Bynum didn't even need surgery.
Bynum did the same thing I did to my knee back in '01. I was told by the Diamondbacks orthopedic surgeon I didn't need surgery either and a year later I was under the knife because it didn't respond to just rehab. Obviously, he's a pro athlete so his muscles are probably stronger all-around, so he may be alright, but I don't think he's out of the woods yet. Plus, even after surgery, I've dislocated my patella twice since then. So it is definitely a recurring injury. Once you do it once, the tendons stretch and it becomes a lot easier to do. At 20...I fear for his career really...knowing what that kind of dislocation has done to my basketball career in the YMCA.
