how can you demand a trade then feel slighted that your name appears in trade rumours?

Again, you have to listen to the whole interview and you will realize that Shawn was very gracious, thanking the fan, the team, his teammates, and only making a fleeting statement about the management.

it wasnt even a fleeting statement, he was only answering their loaded questions

without that he would have said nothing at all about it

he had a good attitude in that interview

His trade request was the response to years of trade rumors and the management not willing to negotiate a new contract extension with him. I've never doubt the fact that he wants to stay in Phoenix, the trade request is more or less like - if you are gonna keep talking about it and you want to get rid of me so f**king bad and that I'm not in your future plan, just get it over with already and get me out of here. Enough is enough already.

Insecurity issues - mentally, Shawn sure had a lot. I don't think it's THAT silly (imagine if that starts to happen with LB), it's just annoying.

Kerr came out a couple of weeks ago and said that he couldve handled player situations a bit better.

It's hard not to assume he meant Marion considering he requested a trade. It was disappointing for Marion to request a trade but with Kerr's comments you can't help but feel he told him something like "you don't deserve that money" when he asked for a 20m-a-season pay rise.

While he was prolly right, there are diplomatic ways of saying that.

He had the right to be mad. He also said he loves the fans and the city of phx. I heard the whole interview and personally I think he did the best one can do under the same circumstances. I wish shawn the best. At some point Diaw had to step up and steve needs to be a better job at defnding his man. ALL of which was being hindered because Shawn eas on the team. I think the loss of marion is going to hurt but at somepoint the team needs to play better and not abuse shawn all the time. Shawn was the man on defense much like steve is the man on offense.
