I remember that well I was so stoked about Shaq doing that. I wouldn't want to be anywhere under the basket when it goes down.

Seeing him I believe that he will lose another 20 lbs before the year is out. That puts about 305. That is a healthy Shaq.

But he's not fat; this has been proven... over and over and over again.

Stop perpetuating garbage myths. Mind too that he's AVERAGING 3 offensive rebounds a game so far this season and has already had 7 games this year where he had 5+ offensive boards, including 4 games where he had 6.

So not only are you perpetuating a false myth, you're also completely wrong.

ROFL yer right he just has a good personality

LOL he's so fat. also, 3 < 5. also if, as you say, shaq has had 7 5+ oreb games so far this year...and if, as i believe, we're 65% of the way thru the season...and since i did say he'd get a few 5+ games the rest of the way...and assuming the rules of arithmetic logic apply..then stfu!!!

ps i bolded the last sentence just bc its outrageous. wtg!

Riiiight. Must be a slow news day. Shaq went to his first practice, showed off a bit to "wow" some people; let's see if he will actually bring that type of energy every night and practice.

My guess, I doubt it.

This part is clearly false and, again, has been proven over and over. He has had times in his career where he has been fat but this certainly isn't one of them. This is a factual inaccuracy on your part.

also, 3 < 5. also if, as you say, shaq has had 7 5+ oreb games so far this year...and if, as i believe, we're 65% of the way thru the season...and since i did say he'd get a few 5+ games the rest of the way...and assuming the rules of arithmetic logic apply..then stfu!!!

1) STFU is not an appropriate comment to make to anyone on these boards, and even less so to a global moderator.

2) Shaq has played in 32 games this season; for those challenged in math, 7/32 ~ 22% of the games in which he has recorded 5+ offensive boards.

Assuming Shaq plays 40 of the 51 games remaining in the Suns schedule, that'll be another 11 games or so of 5+ offensive rebounds assuming he maintains his current pace.

Almost a dozen more games is more than a few, especially if you're following arithmetic logic.

I want to see if he misses lots of under the basket layups. That annoyed me about Shaq this year.

True, but from what I've seen of Shaq, he does that a LOT. His hooks and flips tend to hit back rim nowadays.

But he still shoots 58%, so it really doesn't matter in the end.

that is like comparing an apple with a pear.

"shaq misses layups, marion misses layups also, shaq eats potatoes, marion eats potatoes too", blah blah shaq this marion this, CAN YOU PEOPLE STOP COMPARING THESE TWO PLAYERS THAT PLAY TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF GAMES!

Good point. I'd like it if I could meet you in real life and have you tag along with me for a day, so you could point out obvious inconsistencies in my logic lol, b/c I tend to do that a lot.

Just remember, Shaq is still Shaq.

He's older, slower, doesn't have the same lift as he used to...

But he's still skilled in the post, 7'1, 324 pounds and has 14.5 years of NBA experience under his belt. He's gone up against some of the best to ever play the position, seen every defense... he's The Man.

Shaq is Shaq, A is A, it's all the same deal.

Yeah, he's blowing a lot of shots he might normally make but he's also slightly (a tenth of a percentage point) ABOVE his career average in FG%, so it's all good.

Anyway, it's all good; Shaq's my favorite active player, you'd assume I'd know his numbers inside-out and backwards.

Shaq tested at 11% body fat which is phenomenal for a man his age. he is a huge man, but it's unfair to call him fat.

what's become apparent to me is that he was completely sandbagging in miami. in other words, he could have been playing the last 4 weeks but didnt see the point. good for us ultimately.

his number's could skyrocket. all shaq's buckets are now going to be offenive rebound putbacks and easy layup/dunks off nash assists. i can see Diesel shooting 70% as a Sun.

People that still call Shaq fat now are just people that don't pay attention to the nba at all and just sayin it b/c it's the "in" thing to say. If you've watched Shaq play at all this year he looks slimmer than he has in a few years. He was pretty hefty for a while during the late laker days but since then I don't think so. Kinda like when that stupid bmi thing came out about shaq being obese. It was the most (Please Use More Appropriate Word) thing ever. A body type like shaq's can't be measured using the generic bmi scale. Have you seen the guys arms? I don't think that's fat.
