Shaq a Bust?! Are you Sure?

Post#1 » by deuceSUNS » Sat Feb 23, 2008 6:04 pm

If you saw what I saw Last night. The trade has already improved this team.

1) Not getting out rebounded
2) The SUNS are not intimidated by anyone
3) His presence alone changes the face of the game entirely
4) Amare is playing MVP basketball right now
5) No-one can dominate us in the post anymore

Even if he doesn't score a point he can change a game. This team needed a change and the change they got is great. The suns don't use Shaq to dominate and they had that idea when they got Shaq.
Shaq knows where he is in his basketball life span. Get rebounds, block shots, and intimidate the opponent.

Message is out there: You don't want to play the SUNS in the playoffs!!!

Mike said it the best last night; Nobody is going to bully us around anymore!

yep,
i don't see any spur trying a nasty trick unless he has a death wish.
if an accidental elbow knocked raja out of a game, imagine what an intentional one can do to you...

I think he has to stay healthy, but it's hard to argue with the results so far. As I said in another thread, I think the Suns were allowing about 5-7% higher FGs by the offensive rebounds/layups/post points when they ran small ball. Now, teams will have to shoot a lot more jumpers to beat us. Which, IMO, plays into the Suns hands as jumpers have longer rebounds (ie for the break) and are a worse % shot.

You know a lot of writers were ready to drop a story like this when the suns lost their first game with him. Who cares about his #'s. IT is what this team is all of a sudden doing which they never have done. The playoffs are the big picture, and if this team outrebounds, has more 2nd chance points, they will be fine. We are not soft inside anymore.

Those that don't love the fire and energy that the Suns have played with since the trade. They played with a lot of energy just after getting Shaq. he wasn't even in uniform. I have been one of Shaq's biggest critic's ever. I didn't like him in Orlando and I didn't like him in LA.

I didn't like him coming to the Suns. But he sure seems to have shaken things up. The energy and fire the TEAM is playing with is awesome. I can't wait for more.

Detroit game should be a good one!
