That's true, last year he wasn't a good fit for the Suns.
This year, though, he'd be a great fit. It's only one year of waiting.
Ok you are right it has only been 2 years. I guess 30% from 3pt is improved when you compare it to 20% his rookie year. Sure he doesn't take many but I guess that's by design. I'm still not sold that he would be a great fit. Obviously if you compare him to Banks then I would've taken Rondo.

At the time Barbosa was growing into the backup pg role. They felt that he was capable and actually did ok in that role.

The org was hung up on finding a bigger backup pg to go along with LB. That and Rondo's limitations from the perimeter are what turned them off.

No knock on Rondo though. He is perfect for Doc. Very good on D and probably an underrated playmaker.

if we got salmons at the time as he had promised to come, then none of this would have been discussed

rondo would be a cool backup for nash, if he wasn't traded.

his shoot is much better, and he doesn't look afraid too, but as a good backup, what you want from them is to set up an offense right? he does that.

he doesn't take threes though. but his midrange game is decent. his best quality is speed. you can't teach that. and he's a great rebounder. good defender with his long arms.

he has a nice future as long as he continues to finish around the basket and continues to develop his shot like tony parker has.

his passing skills are already great for a guy that has others who demand the ball in the Big 3.

Rondo would definitely be awesome to have right now, although would he even see playing time? I feel that we need to either sign a PG during the offseason or draft one. Our size isn't great, but it did get better with Shaq. Don't forget we have Skinner too. I feel that our biggest lacks is a backup to Nash and a true SF. Tucker is a bit small at the 3. Who else do we have besides maybe Pike that is a 3? Nobody. So PG and SF should be our main priorities.
