Oh and quote of the year (from AZCentral):

"I'm not sure how to spell his last name, but he can definitely fill it up scoring-wise," Suns forward Amar

I like that fact that he's not just a role-player, he's a role-player who can score big when on fire. He's not afraid to take over the offense.

Gira has always been a very good scorer. He showed that his first few years in the league. Unfortunately he signed with Utah and Sloan sucked the life out of him. I think he will continue to play well for us and hopefully he will accept a new contract for the bi-annual exception next year.

They said he was one of, if not the most talented player on the Jazz last year. He just wouldn't play hard or had issues with Sloan.

hes getting his legs under him, and starting to gel. I love how the guy go out there and gives his all. yeah, he may not be the best 3-pt shooter, but he can make it. I also like he has no problem stepping in after a fake and pulling up for a J. good pick up for the suns.

Gira has that little edge that a scorer has to have. You can see it on the court right now. It's borderline selfish/nastiness that I think we needed a little bit. We have so many unselfish guys that sometimes we overpass. Also how nice is it going to be with 2 scorers off the bench for Boris to pass to.

That had been a problem for Nash - when he drives inside, he used to have 4 3-point shooters (JJ, TThomas, Barbosa, Bell, JJones, etc.). He didn't have that when Bell was slumping this year, and that made the turnovers a lot worse.

IMO Giricek is a great addition, not only because he is a good shooter, but he is a threat to take it to the hole. That is one thing that I think that we really needed. Another player that could create their own shot.

Giricek is shooting 50% from behind the arch for the SUNS. I don't miss Barry now.

What kind of contract do you think Giricek will get next year, regardless of team? And do you think it's his priority to stay in Phoenix?

i agree.. specially against spurs who defend the 3point shot very well.. the only way to beat that is to fake a 3 and then penetrate. something that bell and marion couldnt do before.

That is the million dollar question. He wants to remain with the SUNS and he is worth $4 million a year. I don't know how we can sign him unless Sarver wants to pay the tax... we don't have a first rounder to sale to pay the tax (no way will ATL pick be sold).

Giricek is so handy if Bell misses a game. If we didn't have Giricek it'd be really hard to cover for Bell being out, though its only a minor sprain he got.

Barbosa's our other SG. What we really need is another PG...

Barbosa isn't a classic PG but he's good enough to backup Nash as long as he focuses on Amare and Shaq rather than wheeling and dealing.
