Suns head athletic trainer Aaron Nelson examined guard Raja Bell today and saw improvement but still considered him doubtful to play Saturday's home game against Houston.
"He didn't swell much from the flight (from Seattle to Phoenix), which was surprising," Nelson said. "He's still sore but not bad."
Bell injured his ankle late in the third quarter of Wednesday's win at Seattle. On the last shot of his 6-for-6 3-point shooting night, Bell's right foot came down on Kevin Durant's foot and Bell's ankle turned in.
Leandro Barbosa likely would start in Bell's place on Saturday.
Gordan Giricek will return to action for Friday's practice and Saturday's game after sitting out Wednesday for a thigh bruise. He took a James Jones knee to his right upper leg when he regrettably tried to block a half-court shot at the end of the first quarter.
Good news!
