How would everyone feel about this?

So it looks like we're all going to have to endure another heartbreaking series loss to SA but here's what i've been thinking about:

The whole series I heard comments from D'antoni like "come on guys we just have to stick with it, their hot-shooting will eventually cool down." and this whole blowing his lips thing when ever tony parker would get to the basket at will. Well wouldn't you guys rather have a coach who would throw some defensive schemes at the problem instead of laugh at it like mike?

It just seems to me like Mike D'antoni is so set in ways that he doesn't like to stray to far from what he's comfortable with but the problem comes in the fact that guys like Greg Popovich know exactly what mike is comfortable with and they know how to stop it.

Too many times have I sat there and watch a 20 point lead dwindle to 15 and then 10 and then eventually 5 and the most frustrating thing is: D'antoni makes no effort to stop the run until we practically lose the lead. It's this kind of trust in his "in" guys that have been screwing us over lately.

And the other thing, if Mike D'antoni had given DJ at least 10 minutes per game from the start of the season DJ would have been a huuuuuuuge asset to us in the playoffs. He would have been a lock-down guy we could have used on Tony Parker but nooooo, mike is to stubborn to play his rookies so instead he'll play DJ next when he is practically still a rookie anyway.

My point is, I wouldn't be the saddest person in the world to see Mike get the boot this year. I can't handle sitting here and watching my favorite team get swept and then going to watch the same thing happen next year but expecting different results. Isn't that the definition of insanity? We would be much better of with a new coach. I was even thinking a guy like Eddie Johnson would make a good coach. Me and my Dad were talking and we both agreed that we would feel more comfortable with Eddie coaching this team than mike. Listening to EJ, the guy knows the team and he knows whats wrong with it.


So my vote for our next coach, Eddie Johnson but really anybody but mike d'antoni would be nice.

I am not for sure Eddie Johnson is the right coach. He was really more of a scorer than a defender.

Chambers might be a good canidate, but am not sure if he is the right guy. Same type of player, scorer.

Not necessarily a new coach if D'Antoni can get it through his thick skull that Nash isn't always the answer against every team and he becomes creative with scoring around Shaq, etc.

Might be little hope for the above to happen.

Little hope? No, i'm sorry there is zero chance that Mike gets anything else in his head except for offense offense offense offense and then some no defense no defense no defense

Eddie Johnson isn't exactly a guy who would make a difference considering he never guarded anyone in his life and would just talk about D instead of teaching and practice it.

Mike could do the job if given the right players. He has the offensive tools, we just need guys who play both ends of the floor - tough to find, but not impossible.

They need to look at a cheap backup/replacement for Bell ie Keith Bogans, Mo Evans, Antoine Wright, Delonte West, Fred Jones, CJ Miles

Sign/draft a backup big who actually has some offensive talent and not a bricklayer (Skinner), ie Villanueva, try and trade for TT, Turiaf, Craig Smith, Pachulia

Sign an athletic young swingman/wing player who can knock the open shot down ie Pietrus, Azubuike, Nachbar, McCants, Franc Garcia, Gelabale

And obviously a backup PG...Francisco Garcia would be my number 1 target this offseason. Tough, great 3 point shot, big ballhandling guard who could pair with Barbosa and play the point, not to mention he kills us

Get some vets on the cheap who play D - not soft vets like Marks and Pike...guys who are vocal, ie Malik Rose, Adrian Griffin, Mark Madsen - the Bo Outlaw type of guy who plays HARD when called upon

Those guys are just faces to voices we've seen on TV. They're analysts, notice NONE of them have ever coached a minute in their life?
