With Stats Attitude Would you do this trade

Post#1 » by abekazi » Thu May 1, 2008 7:37 pm

Suns Get:

Dirk
Josh Howard

Mavs Get:

Stat
Boris Diaw.

I realize the numbers might not add up and filler will be needed to make this happen. This are just the key components.

I wouldn't like it, but I wouldn't hate it, because Nash/Bell/Howard/Dirk/Shaq team is pretty effing impressive.

2003 Phoenix Mavs? 2003 Dallas Suns? 2003 Dallas Maveicks?

i dunno what to think about this trade. We turn into a jump shooting team... i say dont do it. you never know amare might start shooting threes next year.

Try again. NO way Cuban would do this. He's in love with Dirk's cuddling skills.

I think Amare has more value than Nowitzki at this point, it may sound ridiculous but I think it's true.

No way we trade Amare, I don't care what his "attitude" is. Nothing less than a Dwight Howard is acceptable for Amare

I think Dirk gets the "choker" label unfairly; he did lead his team to a series victory over the Spurs, something neither Nash nor Stoudemire has done yet.

And he definitely wasn't the reason that they lost to NOH; he was the reason they somehow made the playoffs, and the reason that they didn't get swept.

Dirk is one of the best players in the league.

Laker fan here, I think you guys are waaay over rating Amare. He is not even a tier one player, I wouldnt even trade Lamar or Pau for him, let alone Howard. Amare is cut from the same one dimensional mode as Glen Robinson, Melo, Iverson. The best scenario for a Amare trade would be to go for young cheap talent and picks. Much like any AI team you'll never reach the next level as long as one of your leaders is a primadonna.

Yeah, Dirk got past the Spurs... then he choked up a 2-0 lead against the weak ass Heat in the finals

He choked up again in the biggest upset in NBA playoffs history last year when he "led" his 70+ reg season win team to a humiliating first round exit against the 8th seeded Warriors. I mean they didn't just "lose" either, they got flat out a

did Amare win MVP or something? cuz Dirk did. Doris is worthless 90% of the time and probably should've won the award which is opposite of MIP in 06' (would that be Most Regressed Player?)

Easy breakdown:
Dirk > Amare
Howard>Diaw
=
Dirk & Howard >>Amare and Diaw

I find it kinda funny that you leave out the fact that Dirk will probably be remembered as the most undeserving MVP of all time. That best player on the best team is BS if that was really true then KG should win MVP this year but he wont.

Kobe, Lebron, and Steve Nash were all more deserving than Dirk last year.

And oh yea Josh Howard is a pot head with an absolutely lousy work ethic.

stick that in your pipe and smoke it. no pun intended.
My Frontline is Bigger Than Your Frontline

Robin Lopez 7-1 (LOL)
Amare Stoudemire 6-10 (???)

Amare is pretty one dimensional. He's a below average rebounder for his size, he's a terrible defender. He has pretty low bball IQ. He has good work ethic, but I'm not sure if that's going to make up for his low bball IQ. And then we have the knee problems that will eventually reappear.

There's quite a few guys I'd trade Amare for.
