I don't think we'll be shooting ourselves because the Spurs got Roger Mason ... they're still and will continue to be better than us no matter what we do/did this offseason anyways.

I mean, I am still keeping my fingers crossed for an impressive performance from someone in the summer league and a subsequent signing. Seems like the most likely way we'll get the next addition to our roster. We could end up with a higher caliber player than Marks/L Johnson (even though that's like ending up with the best weed in the rose garden).
As far as our end of the bench guys go, Skinner's the only one I want to keep. I think Marks can legitimately play, but there's something about seeing the same guys sit on the bench year after year that really gets to me. If you're going to keep these guys, play them.
Yeah, back when D'Antoni was coaching the only free agents we were able to land were them useless scrubs such as Steve Nash, Grant Hill, or Raja Bell!!! Now that he's gone, we become so massively attractive a franchise to incredibly talented free agents such as Tyronn Lue!!! What an upgrade!
Yeah, it's amazing who will sign when you offer the highest contract they get (as was the case with Nash, Banks, Piatkowski, House and Bell). Outside of Hill, no other rotation guy agreed to come here when the offer was the same (or less) in FA (ie, Finley, Salmons, Barry, Tim Thomas, Lue the first time, ...).
Arizona Republic reports Lue narrows down to PHX or BOS, eliminating the Heat (wouldn't anyone?). Apparently his friends Shaq and KG are both trying to convince him. I don't see why he would choose us over Celtics. Or Shaq over KG. In a way I hope he goes to Boston IF it would put pressure on FO and Dragic camp to bring him over.
I agree. I hope they do not get him. A Johnson is gone, so whats next when Lue decides to play for the defending champs?
What do you all think about taking a chance on Shaun Livingston? A few years back, many in this forum wanted the suns to take a chance on Jay Williams after his accident and failed come back.
..and with A Johnson going for greater than vet min, it makes the outlook pretty grim. I would sign Livingston in a heartbeat...I worry that he might be too expensive but if everyone else is scared away by his health I think it'd be a beautiful pick up. Especially with our training staff.
Exactly miklo714. Hes still 22 yrs old, and his knee is looking good as of late. The kid has come a long way, I would not mind using part of the MLE to sign him and take the risk. But the suns need to protect themselves like the players do with an ETO just in case he can't play by 2010 I think. I think he will come back and be a solid player if he can stay healthy. Hes big as a pg, and could be that peice that complements barbosa as our 2. I hope he is stronger than before and over at least 200 lbs.
Ya and East Valley Tribune reports Suns interested in Livingston...someone must be holding a gun to management's head (eastside take it easy...its not worth it put the gun down), since when do we look at actual young players with a lot of (a TON of) potential? This guy was supposed to go to Duke and I was pissed when he didn't cause he was a monster at that point...between getting a (too) early start in the NBA and his injury, I can assure you we haven't seen anywhere near the level he can play at. I say this is easily worth more than a min contract and there is plenty more than a 1% chance that he'll be healthy so I think we're all in agreement here. (Fingers crossed)
