What is the deal with Tucker?

Post#1 » by LongLiveHinkie » Sun Jul 20, 2008 2:46 am

I'm a Sixers fan, but I'm just curious about Alando Tucker. I've always been a big fan of his. Moreso as a person than a player, but I like his game too. Is he going to come up and contribute for the Suns this year? I noticed he's having a nice summer league, but he had a nice one last year too, and for whatever reason it didn't quite work out for him.

Hope he does well. He's a really good guy.

It's not his fault our coach was Mike D. Mike doesn't like experimenting with new players, so he doesnt develope anybody. He can be nothing more than a rotational player as of what he's shown right now. But I am sure teams are interested in acquiring him in a package involving Diaw or Barbosa (if they are interested in the other two that is). He could be a nice spark off the bench..

Yeah, Im a fan of his game also, has some good upside. Hopefully he can crack the rotation this year. Much like DJ Strawberry he has been inconsistent with his Jumper, but DJ's D got him minutes last season.

Being primarily a "scorer" he will need to improve his jumper if he wants to make it in the league, I think he will though.

Problem is he's still a slasher/power wing player, and that's not gonna get it done at his size unless he improves his shot.

If Tucker adds more muscle, improves his defense, and continues to improve his jumper, i think he can be more effective. He is great at drawing fouls but sometimes struggles to finish after the contact. With more muscle, he should be able to finish around the rim better. I was amazed to see just how patient he was on the offense and willing to wait to get his defender out of the way before scoring. He never seemed hurried or out of control. I am willing to let him play out his rookie contract.
