Should the Suns target Javaris Crittenton?

Post#1 » by MaryvalesFinest » Fri Aug 1, 2008 10:08 pm

The Grizzlies seem to be shopping Javaris Crittenton with the logjam in the back court. Should the Suns pursue him? He's young and has loads of potential, he can be the Suns pg of the future along with Dragic.

A 2012 first rounder would probally be the best option or the Suns could offer Barbosa for Crittenton + another contract?

I would trade Barbs to Memphis, if they want to send us Conley or Mayo. Outside of those two guys, no thanks.

And I am not taking anyone's horrible contract back.

You forgot one. And he's the guy I'd rather have over both of them and that's Rudy Gay.

Because we all secretly love Diaw more than Barbosa and would rather keep the guy with the **** contract so we have something to bitch about behind Shaq's **** contract.

Or maybe it's because we all know Barbosa is our only true asset in a trade scenario.

Are you freakn kidding me? A 2012 first rounder for him? Barbs for this cat? Come on now? If anyting, trade a 2nd rd pick for the cat if they have soo many PG's. This is when you can get a good deal is when a team has a long jam at a position, and you give them little to nothing.

Some of us last year wanted the suns to pick Jarvis b/c of his size and ability to play PG, which helps Barbs.

geeze, not a good first post man. but by all means, not the worst I've seen. this does not help us that much.

Yeah now that I think about it giving up Barbosa would probally be to much but a first rounder seems reasonable, I assume the Suns will be a playoff team in 2012 but maybe 2009's would be better. I'm probally a bit biased since Ive always been high on Crittenton watching him since his days at Georgia Tech, he was the guy I originally wanted the Suns to draft last year.

Nah, I didn't forget him, I was just naming PG's.

If we are going to rade their team in general, I would take Marc Gasol and Lowry/Crittenton for him as well as Rudy Gay.

Your not serious are you eastside? Crittenton didn't get playing time last season because of playing on a solid Lakers team and a log-jammed Memphis team. This guy has talent, and I'd LOVE him here. At the price of loosing Barbosa? NO. At the price of Diaw or a FUTURE, HEAVILY PROTECTED first, yes. If we can get him for a deal that involves Diaw going to a 3rd team, then I'm all for it. If not, just a future protected first for him is good too. No way I'm giving up Barbosa for this chap though.. (although I am not the biggest Barbs fan around)

i dont want to trade barb's but no one wants to take diaw becuse of his contract barb's is the only one we have that has appeal to a team becuse of his contract and up side.

we all would love to move diaw but not happening unless we send barbs with him.

unless we dump him for nothing but a crap second round pick or close to that

I'd do a Barbosa/Tucker for Crittendon (or Lowry), Warrick and Buckner.

Helps with back-up PG
Helps with defense in Buckner
Helps with an up side SF type in Warrick

We basically only lose ONE commodity (known and proven) in Barbosa. Tucker is the throw in.

I'd do that, I think Darko's contract ends just in time for the 2010 big FA signings. Though i don't think Memphis would do it since they need their big men.

Maybe something along the lines of Diaw + Tucker for Jaric + Crittenton?

I would do Tucker and a future second rounder for J Crittenton but that/s as much as I would give for him. There's no doubt that Jarvis is very talented. It's kind of wierd but he kind of reminds me a little bit of Monte Ellis.

Second option would be, Diaw and Tucker for J Crittenton and Jaric. That would be it but then again, that makes us even thinner in the front line.
