Nice little article and I think it's quite close to what will happen, but i'll keep my fingers crossed.

Don't like the use of the WP48 stat, extremely misleading, especially when we aren't using Shaq to win in the regular season, but only certain games (playoffs) We all know age affects everybody, some earlier some later, so its obvious we'll see a decline in our vets if we haven't seen it already.

In terms of the Marion-Shaq trade, dude is pretty much spot on. We would've made a great run in the regular season, probably a top 3 seed but we won't have gotten past 2nd round with Marion, and definitely won't get past LAL or SAN. I think although we had hoped for a title last season, most of us knew the Shaq trade was made for this seasons championship rather than the last. Marion would've walked and we would've been left with no one to guard to Parkers and the CP3s. At least now we have a rotting corpse good enough for 6 fouls a game, oh and also 10/10/2 I hope. We had a good chance, but it wasn't that realistic this season anyway.

But like always, you can't dismiss the Suns despite the facts brought up by the article. Playoffs success comes in a combination of determination and luck. 2 seasons ago we would've won it all, but we could not have counted on Cheap Shot Rob on thuggin' Nash, you know the rest. We'll see how it goes.

"Given all this, Steve Kerr knew the Suns - if they did nothing - were not likely to win a title in 2008 or 2009. And that means Steve Nash - who turns 33 on the 7th of February - might never win a title in Phoenix. So something had to be done."

--- we;;. we all pretty much said the same thing. Great team, the most fun to watch since the showtime Lakers but unlikely to win it all as they were.
As to the stats cited - makes me think of Charlie Brown and Lucy's baseball season stats: "Tell your statistics to shut up." That kind of trainspotting stuff is really of limited value. Of course, I covered politics for a long time and my tolerance for stats is pretty low as a result. You can juice numbers to prove about anything you care to. The only ones that really count are W and L.
