which means suns could not have given dragic the contract to suplament his buy out of they took him in the first round
Good point. In addition, if you think Dragic is the #2 PG in the draft, but know he won't go in the first round, then you grab a guy at 15 who won't be available in the 2nd, then work on trading up in the 2nd (if necessary) to grab Dragic. Which is what the Suns did. If their player evaluations are right, they did a very nice job of draft optimization. (Note: most draft experts think the Suns over-valued both of their picks, so a lot really hinges on the Suns being smarter than everyone else.)
right on both of you. Dragic was a 1st rounder, but we got him as a 2nd rounder + plus Lopez who was a top 15 for sure. Not bad at all on Kerr's behalf, IMO.
About Sean S. vs Dragic, I think if Dragic adopts to American basketball quick enough, he'll have to upper hand for sure. Sean will give Dragic a run for his money. But for now it is safe to that Dragic has the hype and upper hand. Both need an excellent training camp/preseason that's for sure.
