I am not buying the 'Ran Nash into the ground = poor playoff performance' Kerrveball sunspin

Give Bowen amd Parker some credit, its not like they haven't de-Nashed us before.

It reminds me when Shaq bad-mouthed Chris Quinn and Ricky Davis for no reason...

--- Ehhh, stirkes me as fair comment. We overplayed Nash, and he's copping to it, and saying we won't do that again. Mind, Steve did say - when asked by reporters - he wasn't playing too many minutes but who knows what is said privately? At the very least he's a year older, wasn't at his best last year when the playoffs came around, and had that ongoing shoulder problem as well as his perennial back troubles.
So good for Kerr to point out he's mindful of keeping the MVP healthy for the end of the season.

The Shaq thing was just plain ill-mannered

Bowen takes Nash to school on a regular occasion. Parker, not so much.

But, with that aside, Nash played horrible in stretches where he wasn't being pressured by any defender. You can only assume it was fatigue, since he played well for the majority of the season.

It was a very similiar breakdown as suffered by the Spurs in later series. They just looked OLD!

Ahh hwere is this thread, i tryed to find it a few days ago but couldn't so i posted in the other thread.
I'll just repost here:
If you guys wanna see some other clips of Dragic go to this link http://www.olimpija.tv/
And click on: Kompilacija Evroligaske sezone 2007/2008( compilation of the euroleague season 2007/2008) you have a few of Dragic's plays on there, still not my favorite plays of his the past season but still some nice ones.
If you want to see some highlight plays from the NLB league just click on the NLB tab and there you have some players just click on the ones that say Goran Dragic
Oh and if you like you can also watch a long recap of a game just click on U.OLIMPIJA: HELIOS D.( watch for the move at 4.26 i love that one)

some of you die hard fans might still remember Marko Milic from those videos he played the 98 and 99 season for the Suns, well he didn't actually play he mostly set on the bench.

if you go to the NLB tab and click on it, the top video is IZBRALI STE OLIMPIJA: CRVENA ZVEZDA
Thats a ful game between Olimpija and C.Zvezda i think you guys will like what you see from Dragic he played 33minutes had 24points 4 assists 5 rebounds.
Its a very good game to watch so if you have 90minutes to spear watch it. The other teams PG is Omar Cook some of you might know him too.

So far Dragic hass't wowed me with his preseason play, but he hasn't really done horribly either. All we really need as a backup to Nash is someone who can competently run the offense and winning these last two games with Nash out has really proven to me that at least Dragic can do that. So in terms of his impact on the team this year i think it is going to be greater than people think...

I was too drunk to remember watching him play against the Nuggets in that outdoor game. So other than that I haven't seen him play.

At this point I'm thinkin Spindoctor Kerr did a good job hypin this guy up. I'm convinced the reaction recorded in the "war room" on draft night was staged.

From what I've seen he looks to be fundamentally sound, not a great shooter, a decent - not great athlete, and not the defensive whiz they made him out to be.

And no, not worth the $$$ the splashed out on him

I think he's got the right skillset to succeed, he just needs to concentrate on shooting and his D...where's Phil Weber again? ;)

I like him. He's got good shooting mechanics, just hasn't found his shot yet. He's shown he can hold his own running the team when Nash is out so I think we did a good job getting him, but not for that price of course.

I haven't watched any of the games yet, so I'm not sure how he is as a man defender but from the stat sheet, he looks like he a solid team defender, grabbing rebounds and getting steals. I like his assists numbers too, hopefully he can keep it up with the minutes he gets in the regular season. But overall I think he's a good guy to back Nash. Not the best guy, but he'll do for now.

I'd still like to see if we can get another combo guard backup in case anything was to happen to our vets in the back court. Maybe a bit of Lindsey Hunter or Bobby Jackson. I'm also hoping for Marbury to be cut and sign for a min with us, but that's just a dream. Never hurts to get insurance.
