That doesn't get you Steve Nash, Boris Diaw AND Grant Hill

No, but we wouldn't want all three anyway. That trade is not at all representative of Portland's team or front office.

truth of the matter is Nash's contract status for next yr is a team option. If he continues to be under utilized, and his production levels bottom out....he will become more and more frustrated. He looks completely out of sinc. I question if he is having fun anymore. As diplomatic he is, he is not one yo dance around the truth/opinion either. Surely he has seen the same ineptitude manuvering from our front orfice as we have. Do you think he misses D'Ant ?

Do not put it past him to request a trade or to be released. Why would he flounder around for another mediocre yr ???.... cause I got news for yas ... we don't scare anyone anymore... and father time will enhance that even more next yr. Be realistic and put yourself in Nash's shoes.... if we get spanked out of the playoffs (or not even make them) What reasons will Nash have to stay ??? Do you really believe Kerr'veball and RSarver are competent enough to improve this team and put the right players and coach together ??? Another news flash...we will be over the Lux tax again. Its their plan anyway...to dismantle this team cash wise to try to land a big free agent(s) to appease Amare...keep in mind when The Big Paycheck and Nash drop off the books, Amare has a player option yr. We' could see him bolt too.

Anyways....So we are to ask Nash...to finish his career here with another languishing yr ???
Out of respect...Let the guy go somewhere else... he deserves it. And come mid season if we are less than .500 ( yes...that is my prediction) ask yourselves...WTF do we do ?

The sky may not be falling, but if you don't realize the Sun is setting ... well...
Here ... I'll go ahead and get these ready

Give it until January and then make a decision. Getting Shaq and his Shaq-sized contract and watching the way we've played since obtaining him has really thrown this thought into my head before.

To answer TASTIC's question about why wouldn't we get rid of Shaq instead. Simply because Miami tried for ages to get rid of him and had to wait for a frustrated team to make a frustrated trade. Quite simply Nash is a more tradeable commodity and also has a contract that would be much easier to move. 2 MLE players instead of 3-5 contracts etc. It just works much easier.

I would love to see Nash retire here. I love Nash and have been one of his biggest fans. But I'm a PHX fan before a fan of any individual and if it benefits the team then I'm all for it. Nothing this team has done since obtaining Shaq has led me to believe that we are close to winning the championship and quite frankly I'm far from happy about just getting to the play-offs and stumbling out of it. We're talking about guys who are mid-late 30s in our team. They don't have that long to adjust and it's much harder for them to adjust at that age then compared to younger players (Diaw for instance in the season we went to the WC Finals). Also Porter doesn't come across to me as a coach that really thinks outside the square. He has a certain way he wants to play the game and I don't see him shaping players into those pieces he needs. It seems he will obtain the type of players he wants rather then adjusting players games.

So in summarising, wait til Jan and see how we're doing. I would def want something pretty good for Nash but I'm not unreasonable either. If we just did it for expiring contracts and picks then it would be an obvious admission that it's time to go down before we go up.

BTW, I don't buy all the fear-mongering about losing Amare. At the end of the day money talks pretty loudly and bird rights mean we can pay him more than others. Of course knowing Sarver he'll do something stupid in the negotiations and pee off Amare. When did I become this pessimistic?!

Did I seriously just see a fan of the Suns say that they should trade Shaq and Nash for Marbury and McCurry?? The sky is falling!!!

Not advocating the trade.... merely pointing out that it is one way to reunite Nash with D'Ant. It works...and practically accomplishes the same thing that Phnx will be doing in the near future.
Dismantling.

And I repeat....Nothing...NOTHING that this front orfice does will surprise me.

so ask yourself.....When does the rebuild process begin ?? It is inevidable. For like it or not, they do not look like a championship caliber team. Granted, they are going through a period of adjustment...but sooner or later, that alibi will not suffice.

PS.... I hope I am wrong

You're not wrong Frank Lee. This system is a waste of Steve, and a waste of the Suns resources. Resting Steve, and limiting him to a role that someone like Steve Blake could do in hopes that in the playoffs it's going to be the difference is bogus line of thinking. Both sides would be better off with a trade.
