Pretty damn confusing.

We were all pretty much settled with the fact that Livingston was released. Then all of a sudden he was back with Miami to be traded to Memphis, then 5 min later gets waived??

Morning call to Livingston: "Hey Shaun, you just got traded to Memphis and simultaneously waived. Have a good day."

I laughed when I saw that Livingston was traded then waived. The trade probably has to do with them being over the luxury tax threshold. They didn't want to pay the tax for him so they traded him to Memphis with the cash to pay for whatever Memphis has to pay (salary-wise and the normal NBA tax). Memphis has to give something so they give a super protected second round pick. From what I read unless the pick is higher than 55, Memphis keeps it. Pretty much a money saving trade for the Heat. Meanwhile, Memphis pretty much gets nothing.

probably just a mistake either by a reporter or someone out of the sports information department, these things do happen ya know (thinking of Eddie Johnson and the Chicago Tribune report that got spread around a couple years ago)

So - Miles on a 10-day contract or two just to see? He only needs two games to go back on Portland's books, apparently, as the pre-season with Boston counts towards his 10 games.

I'd love to have Livingston but are we in a place where we can spend anything on a guy we hope will be rehabbed to his potential *next year*?

I was all for DMiles this summer but at this point I don't think we have any need for him positionally. We already have a stack of players with a similar skillset and who are actually performing quite well. I think out of our 2 options:

1) Free agency: pick up a legit big, like people have been saying. A PG is another option but as we have seen a free agent caliber PG is not gonna cut it as a backup to Nash. Unless we can coax whichever PG (Arroyo?) that got booted from his overseas squad.

2) Trade: I want this to happen. We trade Barbie for a nice backup PG, either 1 for 2 or 1 for 1 and turn to free agency for a big.

EDIT: Also, there has to be a reason that Miles was immediately waived after one game. He got a rebound and a block, but perhaps he is still not looking to be in good shape or something?

Yeah that makes sense. On the subject of trades, is Barbie for Earl Watson straight up a possibility? OKC getting Atkins makes Watson even more expendable than he already is, and they could use some scoring help at SG.

EDIT: I feel like this has probably been mentioned, but I just think it could be a good solution.

Watson + picks I meant to say...still doesn't match talent wise but:

I'm the first to say we shouldn't trash barbie, but considering our narrow window Watson's shorter contract looks good, picks would help us rebuild as our window closes and we have a great solution for a backup point who could give Nash a HUGE rest going into the playoffs. I think at this point we need to make a move thats not about talent, but about strategizing for how we build up power to win this ring while simultaneously giving us some flexibility going forward.

EDIT: OKC now has 3 first rounders next year due to the trade they just made.

Watson is not a bad backup PG. He plays D and is a better offensive player then he used to be. Barbs is the better player but I really do not see the suns spending money on any player that has gone over seas. Livingston will be cheap and a risk that might be a good one. Remember, if he doesn't work, you can waive him or just work with him over time.

when shaq is out, this team does not play that well and nash is a hard guy to replace on the court. That is why the TEAM has to step up and pick up the slack.

I was gonna post on that article, I would have to change my pants if we signed Pargo. The question being, would either of these guys sign for min?

I like Delfino. he would be a very good backup SG for us. He plays hard and can shoot at times.

pargo is a smaller barbosa. He only does good when nash is guarding him. I would like it if they got him, but I would like to see the suns reach for Livingston still and maybe later bring in a big man if RoLo can't show improvment like his brother has.

The suns want Shaun Livingston, but there are reports he is leaning toward returning to Miami. Other players they are looking at is Eddie Gill, Courtney Sims, Dee Brown and a couple of other guys form the D league.

I feel with our medical staff and our lack of depth and our horrible rookies that it would be one of the best things for hime to do is sign here. They will give him the best chance to return to what he was, if that is possible.
