Earl Watson
Reading an ESPN column about "it's January so it's time for Earl Watson trade rumours" and it occurred to me that he would fit the bill as a Nash backup.
He for barbs is doable straight-up, though whether OKC wants him is the question.
I know Leandro had a nice game last night but we could use Tucker to replace some of the offense we lose, and we have JRich now -
Thoughts?

Re: Earl Watson
What if they add Joe Smith or Collison so that the Sun could also get some solid help at the PF/C position? No idea how the salaries are going to match though.

Barbosa for Watson and the Suns 2010 first rounder the Suns traded to them last year sounds good.

Watson, Wilcox and our 2010 back for Barbs and Charlotte's 2010 2nd rounder
I think every suns fan on the planet grossly undervalues Barbosa

Yeah, that's what Suns fans would say AFTER hot games he's had recently. Few games before then the Suns fan would've traded him for any half-arsed backup point, two bags of peanuts and thrown in Tucker as a sweetener.
I still would rather we pick up someone rather than trading Barbs though. His scoring off the bench is important. Livingston?

Re: Earl Watson
Looks like Sarver and Kerr are focusing too much on the all-star weekend then making a decision on who we are going to get as our needed roster spot. They are saying Livingston is more then likely on his way back to Miami because even though Sarver expressed interest he isn't putting on the big boy pants and signing him.

Re: Earl Watson
I would trade barbs for the right package. He is one of the better 6th men in the league scoring wise. Outside of that, he is well below avg as a player. I like LIvingston, and so do the suns from what I am hearing and reading. But we need a solid big and I don't know if we are going to get that because we have no peices to move. Lou is a nice hustle player, but we need a skilled big man to back up Shaq. Hes playing well now, but can he keep this up till June?
If the suns would have been smart and kept Fernandez, I would say ship barbs out for a package like Watson and Joe Smith or Collison. But we don't so that is why I would be hesitant to let him go.

I get to officially meet Kerr this friday after the Wolves game. I'm definitely going to mention Livingston's name to him. Any other names that you guys want me to mention to him? (actual possible signings)

--- There you go. That's what i should have thought of.
Salaries match within the allowable % for Barbs and Watson.

Here's a couple of names
Jamont Gordon-Undrafted rookie in the 08 draft currently playing in Europe I think.
Yuta Tabuse-Played a few games for the Suns during the 04-05 season, that was a Colangelo signing I think though.
Demarcus Nelson-Released by the Warriors a few weeks ago.
Mike Penberthy-Might be kind of old and don't know if he still even plays but he played with Shaq during the Lakers championship run.
Jared Jordan-The homeless mans version of Steve Nash
Robert Hite-Steve Kerr favorite and was at the Suns training camp this summer.
Also see if you can pursuade Kerr to make a trade for a pg like Jarret Jack or Jordan Farmar perhaps...

I would never mention the signing of Farmar to him. His ears are far too large and Dumbo-like.

--- They're apparently unhappy with Wilcox. I watched a lot of Sonics games and I like the guy.

Re: Earl Watson
Wilcox would be a nice pickup, but who would we have to get rid of to make the salaries work? It would take more then just Barbosa to get Wilcox and Watson.

Re: Earl Watson
I mentioned Watson for Barbs straight up a few days ago, but seeing Barbs light up lately has made me want him to stick around...we need that spark.
Get Nashty, I don't know in what capacity you will be meeting Kerr, but something tells me he won't appreciate being given management advice nor will he listen.

I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate it but a little helpful tip shouldn't hurt.

Re: Earl Watson
Ok so I just got back from the Suns game and a little Q&A with Kerr (and also met Shaq which was pretty badass too) and I asked him about the available roster spot he had open and asked him if he has taken any consideration into Livingston and he was suprisingly extremely nice about it and said that he absolutely has looked at trying to get him and really wants him here, but he couldn't go any further then that unfortunately. That is all I could get out of him.
