Nope, no idea...on either question.

Griff is ALWAYS scouting, so it doesn't mean much. It's usually regarding the draft.

This is from Gambo and Ash Website:

"So Long, Steve? - The trade winds are blowing and Steve Nash’s name keeps coming up. Gambo says Nash’s behind-the-scenes complaining might be grinding on management and the team might not be opposed to trading the aging star. Ash loves Rudy Fernandez in Portland and would not be afraid to move either Nash or Stoudemire to get him."

What the heck is this! Are Gambo and Ash the mouthpiece for Sarver and Kerr?? I swear they are testing the waters through them to see what would happen if they were traded. They seem to dislike Nash and Amare, and love Porter at the moment

If that's the case, here's a deal with Portland I'd do with them. It gives us better depth and youth movement for the future. It also leaves us with $20 mil in 2010 for a major free agent.

Amare/Nash/Barnes/Tucker to Portland

Aldridge, Rudy, Bayless, Blake, Outlaw, LaFrentz, and rights to Kopenen

1,2,3,4,5..Um..that's it ?!! You're only asking Memphis for half of their 9 man rotation and actually expect them to aquire Amare ?!!........You gotta be kidding me. :o The whole Memphis roster should be on that list, if we're talking about Amare........and his gorilla game :D

Okay take away the 2nd then.

Although I don't see how Dudley is better. If we traded Barbosa to the Grizzlies we'd be losing a lot of 3 point shooting. Morrow leads the league at 50%.

Dudley can't even get into games. He averages 1.5 points and 1.3 rebounds a game, and that's against the other team's bench. Even in Charlotte where he got 20 minutes he averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds. Can't score and doesn't even seem to rebound.

Morrow is a rookie leading the league in 3 point shooting. He averages 9 points and 3 rebounds in 20 minutes. Yes, given the same minutes as Dudley he actually rebounds the same despite Dudley being some kind of great "hustle player."

I figure if we trade a play who can't even get into games for a rookie who has had games of:

37 points and 11 rebounds.
25 points
15 points
15 points
16 points
15 points
13 points
14 points
14 points
15 points and 9 rebounds
19 points
17 points

Not to mention a ton of 7 point, 5 rebound, etc.. games, we'd have to throw in a 2nd.

Morrow is no future star, but he's a rookie with potential to be a nice backup. Contending teams trade crap players and 2nd rounders for a little extra shooting all the time.

I just don't think we need another 'shooter'/guy who needs the ball in his hands to be effective. Dudley is just the type of role player we need, and I think he has a lot of promise.

--- Bosh had a great stretch in November when he looked like a beast but having watched every Raps home game for three years, he's just not Amare. He's a little bit frail, gets the ball stripped on drives often, passable defender ...
If Amar'e had Bosh's attitude he'd be one of the all-time greats. His potential is still untapped though I think we all fear that it may stay that way.
I really think Amar'e needs a dedicated big man coach for the defensive end and all the things he was never taught, for reasons of size and natural talent at the earlier levels and then with a D'antoni system that didn't focus on those aspects anyway.
Can you imagine if Stat spent a few months working with someone like Ewing? Or Russell? Wes Unseld ....
There's along list of big men who could impart some serious knowledge

The Suns are looking more and more like Non-Contenders especially with the in cohesiveness with the players, let alone the coach and management.

Rumors that I've heard are teams like Portland, Miami, Chicago, Milwaukee, New York, Cleveland, Toronto and Memphis have all been rumored to want Amare. There also have been numerous rumors of teams inquiring about Shaq and Nash as well.

Amar'e to GSW could bring back Bellinelli, Wright, M Williams and Maggette
Or Morrow/Williams/Randolph
I still think Williams can be an effective PG in the league

I don't think we really want to lose Stat, though. Maggette we could deal away for a PF.

You know, like us, GS should be a lot better team when you consider the pieces they have. Goes to show that a collection of talent isn't the only requirement.

hmmm.... wondering about trades makes me nervous, 'cause it means Kerr'veball has his thinking cap on.......but I gotta think Amare is the focal point. Here are some of my thoughts on this

I do not think it is total rebuild time ... it just would not be fair to Nash, Hill, Shaq, the Fans... and , ahem, without causing harshey to spring wood, we aren't quite dead yet.

And I don't think just Barbososo is goin to get us significant pieces to improve our woeful defense and lack of cohesion. Plus, he is a value and just an all around good kid.

I also believe STAT is far to inconsistant to sign to huge Money like he will demand, and likely get. He is still a one trick pony, and is subject to egomania. His immaturity is a threat.

Stat could get us enough pieces to remain competitve AND a future first or two.

We have enough offense to compensate his departure.

Our resident tipster has mentioned Memphis. Pairing Stat with Mayo, Gay, Gasol, would be an exciting team. Memphis has an extra quality young pgs available. And a reasonably priced PF/C....and cap space

so...

Conley
Milicic
2009 1st (hopefully unprotected)

for Amare

we get Nash help. we get a decent, though somewhat unfulfilled big (who has been out of Memphis' line up w/hand injury) , we save 5 million (gawd, you know that will make one person happy)... AND maybe a shot at Blake Griffin or ??? It also puts us in a better position next yr to sign an FA, and relieves us from a bidding war for StandingTall AndTame.

I really don't think we take a step back in what we can do this yr. Stat, for all the excitement and dominance he can bring on the O-side, has been equalizing his contribution on the D-side. As I said, we have sufficient fire power to compensate, IMO. The Amare thrill is gone for me.

Go ahead now...and skewer this one... but keep in mind, something should be done that not only psuedo-ly saves this season, yet gains us some leverage/flexibilty for next yr. And, what ever deal is struck, it has to be a win win for all.

Chicago gets: Amare/Nash/Barnes/Tucker
Phoenix gets: Rose/Thomas/Noah/Gooden/Thabo/Hughes

Portland gets: Amare/Nash/Tucker
Phoenix gets: Aldridge/Fernadez/Bayless/Outlaw/LaFrentz and rights to Kopenen

Milwaukee gets: Amare/Hill
Phoenix gets: Sessions/Villinueva/Alexander/Jefferson

the first trade... chicago never gives up rose. the second ones alright but we also need a first and one of the pg like blake or the other guy??? and the last one is horrible. sessions and villanueva are ok but alexander and jefferson have been disapointing this year + hill has been so important to us and is imo untouchable

Rose doesnt go anywhere...

The Grizzlies trade is intriguing... I'd ask for Arthur as well... just in case...

How about one of the Clippers three bigs, Thornton, and the 1st rounder that the Wolves owe LA.

You guys could get whatever type of big you want, a young talented SF, and a future 1st.

Kaman, Thornton and a 1st would sound pretty good to me.

I'm just tired of hearing about it and ready for MGT. to make a move. I don't know if i can stand another two weeks of speculation.
