I think he is a max player, but when an agent says his player wants a say in where he goes, thats when I say screw you, he has no right or anything in his contract that states he can interfear with this. Suns have to do whats best for them and you, amare are still getting paid. Stuff like this makes me want to trade him evenmore.
The agent is just stating the obvious. ANY team considering a trade for Amare is NOT giving much for a short-timer especially if they won't be top contenders right now. It's hardly any surprise Amare expects a Max deal and he will get it...or very close.
Sure....the Suns can trade Amare as a pro-rated temp..and get a couple of fairly decent players packing some salary baggage, but no high picks, no 2-3 rising young stars, none of the payoff talked about in a couple dozen trade threads. Clev might give what they can..but that's not much of a package,or Port could give Raef and a good youngster like Bayless, maybe a future pick. Either of those teams could ride Amare somewhere in the next 2 playoffs. As a UFA...Amare WILL go where he wants to,if the Suns can send him WHERE HE WANTS to PLAY, at a Max deal..the Suns CAN get a S+T.
However...then the Suns are taking back MORE contract $.
Toronto has basically the same thing going. Bosh expects max $ and will get to pick and choose among a few teams ready to pay. A team can be "small market" and still make payroll and make a title run. San Antonio ...Portland don't even have other big league teams. They ARE..however..contenders.
The Clips,Nets,Knicks,Warriors,Bulls, are pretty "Big Market" but are non-contenders.
