He did say something that struck me immediately, and that was that he was going to start using Amare as the five in smaller lineups with someone like Barnes at the four when Shaq is on the bench, which is something we hardly ever saw when Porter was coaching, which I think was a huge mistake on his part. I think that Gentry knows what he's doing and we should see some improved results with this roster.

I think Gentry said what we all wanted him to say at press conference. Giving back the ball to Nash and opening the court for him. It sounds simple but if the suns are in position to play like they always love to, it can bring joy back and I'm sure they'll be more willing to work hard defensively. I know Shaq wants his touches but I guess he won't be mad if he sticks to this "defensive rebounder, first passer in open court" role that help the team to win more games.

Shaq will most likely have issues with less touches, though he shouldn't. I don't see why when Nash is out we don't play halfcourt and dump it to Shaq each time, he's proven he can shoulder the load offensively

Can't wait to see Nash-Amare again...hopefully...I won't sit still til the deadline's gone...

Porter revived Shaq but also messed up his mentality. When Shaq was brought in he knew he was a defense first guy and he wasn't suppose to mess up the chemistry off the team by demanding touches. He was good for the whole time D'Antoni was here and just did what was asked.

Porter came in and put the spotlight on the big fella and he produced. Now Shaq thinks he's the number one option, which Porter made him to be. It would be tough for him to not get his touches and stay quiet.

I definitely want to see a balance of slowed down half court post-oriented play and also the fast-paced Nash-led offense we like to watch.
