OT: aLSTON TO oRLANDO

Post#1 » by Orange_Blooded » Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:32 pm

http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi ... team_deal/

Looks to alston is going to O town in exchange for not too much (IMO)..

I think this is great for Us Suns Fans since we are chasing Houston (and others) and in my opinion Alston has transitioned to be a very effective NBA point guard.

With no Tmac or Alston I like our odds at catching them with Gentry at the helm.

I think its gonna be a big loss for houston, he's stepped up the last two seasons and was a big part of their winning streak last year.. I really dont see houston in the top 8 seeds now (tmac has something to do with that but he's been hurt for a while now) Dont really understand them dealing him.

Just think its good news for Phx.

It's a big loss for Houston, but with so many injuries and T-Mac being out for the season, it makes sense for them to shed long term guaranteed contracts. Cook has a player option next season while Rafer is guaranteed a salary next season.

This is a steal for Magic since Cook wasn't getting much burn and they were desperate for a PG. They should really have waited and held on to Bogans, instead of trading for Lue.

Don't want to jinx anything, but every other team seems to be getting killed in trades or their important players are battling 'the i-word".

Hopefully we stay healthy.

That sounds sarcastic, but he is a very solid point guard and a good leader. He was a very important part of the rockets lineup. I think He will be a huge loss. Even without tmac they have a solid team with alston, yao, battier, artest, scola ect.

Without Tmac and Alston they have nobody over 5 asst a game, makes our road that much easier.

You can't say "solid" or "good" in a rebuttal to 37%

37% folks. I think we have 4 players on our team with crappier PER. Lopez, Dragic, Tucker and Dudley.

great steal by Orlando. What will happen to Lue & Johnson now that they have a new starting PG. Guess Orlando weren't too convinced with Lue.

I gotta admit Brooks looked much better last night than I'd ever seen him, Maybe I underestimated him. I never thought he'd be much more than a decent back up in the NBA, He looked very good last night though.
