OT- 2K9 - Live 09

i dont think this topic has been brought up yet but if there is any other gamers on realgm that wanna help me out would be awesome.

i am looking to buy either one for xbox, if you have it for either PS3 or xbox i wanna know which one and why.

im a 2k guy recently but i hear live is great this year.

ALSO, if anyone plays halo 3 let me know we could play on live.

2k has owned the EA games the past 3 or 4 years. i just feel like it's more realistic of a sim. ea feels arcade like.

I started playing 2K this year because it came out on PC. I've played the demo of Live 09 on PS3 and the mechanics just aren't as good as in 2K9. I'll probably get 2K9 on PS3 soon.

edit: I've played Live the past few years because I only got the PS3 last year. It's fun as an arcade game and at some instances does look prettier than 2K but it doesn't feel as realistic as 2K.

i hear the game play of 2k is the same as last years and i have that one, and i have to say i HATE the game play the movement is sticky and just looks horrible and it lags sooo much on online play... same issues for you? or not this year?

Like I said, I only started playing 2K9 this year and from my many years of playing Live including this year's, I still think 2K9 is better. I haven't had a chance to play online just yet because my internet connection isn't very stable. Apart from presentation, I'd take 2K over Live almost every time.

It's really up to you man, if you like a fast free-flowing game where it's all about scoring and swishes you should get Live. 2K is targeted at more hardcore basketball fans while historically Live has been targeted at casual gamers.

I've always been a Live person but I tested out both on PS3 and this was my first year going with 2K. I would highly recommend it.

i love ALL sports but as soon as its something to do with soccer its over for me haha so i will not challenge you back because i know my limits and me and soccer just dont get along well

What's a good second game to get, a non sports game and I don't have many more criteria. Something like GTA?

GTA was pretty tight not gonna lie the newest one was lots of fun... idk if you are into the FPS games.. but id recommend call of duty, i havent played the newest one but modern warfare was SICK! im a halo and 2k8 junkie but i rent games beat em and return them haha also i loved the new bond game... it was very very good for the campaign but not that impressive online and all

definitely get Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

I would hold out a little bit longer, apparently there is goign to be a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I would get that once it comes out.

Oh yeah, the only live game I have owned was Live 06 for the old XBOX, I loved playing that game...until i played 2k, now i am planning on going out and getting a copy of 2k for my XBOX go figure.

I have been a 2k guy since, well...NBA 2k for the Dreamcast. I love the 2k games over the Live Games because like everyone is saying, its more "Real". I have both an Xbox and a PS3. I have 2k9 for both systems and just got Live 09 recently after watching people play it at the Jam Session during All Star Weekend. . . Live looks really pretty, but so does 2k9 and it plays far better.

My vote is 2k9. Both for PS3 and Xbox.

nba 2k9 hands down is better then live 09. the game play is way different then 2k8, and 2k7. the only thing that 09 HAD better then 2k9 was updated rosters and player ratings. if amare had a bad week he would play bad, i'm sure you've seen the kg commercial. now that 2k9 has those updates too, nba live 09 doesn't even compare to 2k9. i played 2k8 everyday and won over 300 games and trust me the game play is totally different.

also, if you like to play online you can get a couple of your xbox friends in a party and play 5 on 5 on team up!!!!! i found out about team up and i never play any ranked matches anymore. its really fun to have 8 people in a room talking crap to each other playing 4 on 4 or 5 on 5.

i was up to level 50 on gold cross, i stopped playing it because i was having nightmares of being there, running up the stairs, lol, insane game online man. i got call of duty 5, but i hate the old guns that they have in it. cod4 was modern, hense the title: modern warfare

2k9 for sure, I haven't played Live since '04 when it was last decent. I HATE THE LIVE SERIES NOW!
