(no sarcasm, I'm generally curious as he seems to have done nothing in this league warranting a #2 pick)
Tastic, it looks to me like Maryvale isn't a 'Stro fan,' he's just saying that Swift should be playing over Amundson.
I'm certainly a Stro fan though. I think if you judge his career based on his total production, you're right. But I don't think he's ever had the opportunity to live up to his draft position. I've been following him closely since the beginning of the 02/03 season, and I believe with all my heart that his play has warranted much more opportunity to play than he's received.
The most obvious examples were the times when he saw increased minutes with the Grizzlies when either Pau Gasol or Lorenzen Wright was out of action. You can see his 02/03 game log from 3/5 to 3/16, his 03/04 game log for the month of March, and his 04/05 gamelog from Jan 25 to Feb 16.
In 02/03, Wright's daughter had passed away. In his absence, the Griz set a franchise record with 6 straight wins. The streak ended upon Wright's return. In 03/04, Wright had a knee injury in March. The Griz set a franchise best for win/loss record in a single month. In 04/05 it was Gasol who was injured, and the team did very well and improved substantially on the glass. With Gasol, the Griz were perennially near the bottom of the league in rebounding, but with him out the Griz beat or tied their opponents on rebounding in 12 of 14 games if memory serves.
