UNC WINS!

Post#1 » by NashtyNas » Tue Apr 7, 2009 4:24 am

WOOP WOOP. Tar Heel's destroy Spartans. The scoreboard doesn't even show how easily they won.. 2 sleepers in this draft are Hansbrough and Lawson. I think if we're planning to get rid of Amar'e this off season, it's not a bad idea to pick up Hansbrough if we get a late pick in return (probably will get a lottery + late + expiring or something). Also, as promising as Dragic has been since the Gentry Era started, I really think if we can pick up Ty Lawson with the 14th, we should do it. That KIND OF makes Nash expendable, since Lawson CAN play above average defense, and isn't just a scorer (very decent play maker, actually). He'd excel in an uptempo offense, especially with his quickness and explosiveness, and even though he doesn't have size, he's a fierce competitor, kind of in the Nate Robinson mold but a much much better play maker. What does everyone else think?

i see Hasnbrough as an elite college basketball player just like JJ Redick was. But he will find himself only as a reserve fighting to stay in the league as a role player just like Redick. Congrats to coach Williams, a total class act.

I cant' stand the Poop heals. But the were by far the best all around team in America. T Hans will be so much worse then Reddick. Why, because he is small, short arms and will have a harder time staying in the league. Reddick will be a role player who comes off the bench to hit 3's. He will not find his way out of the league, T Hans will though. He has the heart, but the rest is not going to get it done in the NBA.

Which is too bad, cause Hansbroughs daddy is gonna take him out back and whip him if he doesn't stay in the nba. My friend used to live in his neighborhood when he was a kid and said the kids would go over to ask Hansbrough to play cops and robbers, and he would be shooting baskets with his dad yelling at him and him crying.

Redick will be Eddie House, which I'm fine with.

Hansbrough will be Danilo Gallinari.

Ty Hansbrough might be the most under rated player in this draft after Tyreke Evans. What's with all the hate? This guy can flat out play. Heart, hustle, energy, and he can shoot the ball with good range for a PF. In no way does he have small hands, and he catches and finishes pretty much everything and anything in the post. He's exactly what we need off the bench at the PF, especially if Lopez stay's as our Center (meaning there's no offensive output from the front lineup if Amundson + Lopez play together). Also, if anyone actually thinks Dragic is a better player than Ty Lawson, or has "potential" to be better, I would have to laugh. I've always been on the Dragic band wagon, and I love what I've seen, but you always go for the BPA, especially at the 14th pick, and if Lawson is available and we don't pick him, that would be real sad.

Hansbrough is pretty similar to a player like Madsen (although slightly more skilled). Someone had mentioned him having a Harpring-like role in the NBA but I doubt he'll ever be as good as Harpring at that role. Harpring is a MUCH better shooter.

I think he'll be a decent energy/hustle guy. I don't agree that he'll be out of the NBA in a few years though. He should enjoy a fairly successful career off the bench in the NBA.
