Peace and blessings everyone, Stromile has helped organize an event in his hometown to honor his mother and try to help raise awareness about kidney disease in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Former Griz teammates Rudy Gay and Earl Watson have appeared at the event. Just a little anecdote about Watson... I remember seeing a Nuggets season preview on NBA tv before the start of the 2005/2006 season, and one of the Nuggets broadcasters asked Watson what he thought about playing defense with Marcus Camby, since according to the broadcaster, Watson had never played with a true shot blocker with the Griz
Watson made a point of saying that he had played with Stromile Swift, who he called "a big-time shot blocker", but he agreed that Camby was/is a good defensive player who helps Watson play a high pressure style.
It's very rare to see players really take a strong stand against incompetent broadcasters and show some independent thought.

Re: Stromile Swift honoring mother in his hometown
if Amare leaves, Stromile+Chris Wilcox will at the very least more than make up for the posters we'd be missing. Wilcox's offense+Stro's defense=Amare by committee!

Regarding Stro he seems like a great guy. But does anyone know what will happen to this team next year? I'm nervous...
