I wonder if the Mavs would be interested in j-rich for marion, obviously more players would have to be added due to salaries but would that be something we or them would consider ???

Mavs have Jason Terry and Josh Howard, so they're not exactly hurting for offensively-oriented SG/SFs. I'm gonna go ahead and say they won't have interest in JRich at the expense of Marion.

The lowest I would go on JRich is trading him for Brad Miller (expiring, slow, big, range on jumper). If his trade value isn't able to land even him then lets just hang onto him.

Just sign a versatile back-court defender (shouldve got QRoss) for cheap and lets get on with it. Just bring back DJ if we have to but I'm sure there's someone better out there we could get. Really hope we don't get rid of LB. He is a poor man-on-man defender but I actually think he's a good zone defender. Quick hands, long wingspan so he intercepts quite a few passes. But he's just *way* too weak to defend the SG spot and gives away cheap fouls.

I would seriously prefer to see LB/DJ in our reserves back-court then Dragic/LB. With Clark able to take his player off the dribble we would have 2 wing players able to penetrate and DJ would purely be a role-player (defend and shoot) taking the pressure off LB defensively.

Dragic and LB in the back-court just have that ability to drive me *completely* insane during a match. They can go from just swinging the ball around the back-court doing absolutely nothing to throwing the ball into row Z. I can handle one player doing that but when both our back-court tandem have the ability to turn into complete bone-heads I think that's a recipe for disaster.

We should be looking to offload Dragic and Tucker for 2nd round picks rather then getting rid of LB.

how about j rich played really well in gentrys system and has unlimited offense....yeah his contract is big but hes a fun player to watch in the mean time. He helps us compete and I think we have a lot better of a squad then most people think..we just need a big like wilcox to go along side amare, frye is way to soft ive played ball with him at the north phx baptist gym. whatever you do DO NOT trade barbosa, he is perfect in the suns system, and dallas isnt (Please Use More Appropriate Word)...why would they trade the guy they just signed for another 2 guard?? especially when they lost a rebounder they thought theyd have in gortat

I agree. Unless something good comes along tradewise, we should just hang on to him. At the very least he'll probably inflate his value and we can trade him at the deadline to a contender for expirings and a draft pick or something.

whatever you do DO NOT trade barbosa

I also strongly agree. Not only is he a good fit at a great price, but you know he puts the team first. You can never have enough guys like that.

It wouldn't hurt to add someone, but I think the Suns aren't too bad off the way they are.

I don't know how good you are, but it's not uncommon for a professional basketball player (or any really good player, particular one who is very tall) to look "soft" when playing against "normal" people. It's unlikely that Frye would be going all out at a pickup game at a church.

I'm not arguing that he isn't soft, just that you can't tell at all in a situation like that.

While I have disagreed with all the cash moves, I would be happy to trade JRich for ANYTHING. I don't know why no one dislikes him as much as me. I thought he hurt us badly last season. I would get rid of him for cash or anything just not to see him on the floor ever again. I said it last season at the end when we were trying to get that last spot. Barbosa we should keep. He's solid for us off the bench.

Then again, maybe we should trade Barbosa. Not for our benefit, but for his. I think he deserves to be the starting SG on a good team or at least come off the bench for a good team. He's been very loyal and humble. Didnt we extend him already lats year for some crazy below market rate? He's a class act.

But Jrich I will give away for anything. I dont understand the CBA or salaries or anything else so forgive any trades I suggest that are stupid. But I would love to get Andre Miller as nashs backup. I actually like Dragic, but I've had a thing for Miller for a few years.

Just to put paid to it, the Curry trade was part of a discussion about how we could unload JRich, back when it looked like the whole Suns roster was in flux. We thought Nash to NY with JRich and we coudl probably have our way with the FO dangling those two ...

But the roster has settled down and we look not bad. This team has the potential to over-perform, like Suns teams of a few years back and JR may work out okay with us. No-one ever said he wasn't talented, just that we had a scorer in Barbs and JR"s oversized salary could be put to better use n other players.
But there's no sense unloading him for scraps and if things aren't working out, he'll be valuable to someone at the deadline.

I'm still a little nervous about Nash, though.
