Hill Talks to USAToday

Post#1 » by Mr. Sun » Sun Jul 26, 2009 11:59 pm

Instead, like teammate Steve Nash, Hill elected to stay with the Phoenix Suns to complete what he says is unfinished business. The Suns failed to make the playoffs last season for the first time in five years despite going 46-36.

"Even though we won 46 games, there was a feeling of failing," said Hill, who averaged 12.0 points and 4.9 rebounds. "That's the first time that core of guys (including Nash and forward Amar'e Stoudemire) had gone through that in a while. … I don't think people are expecting a whole lot from us this season. That's a good situation to be in. I'm not going to say we're going to do this or that. But, as players, we're going to erase the bad taste from last season."

Nice find. Hill's class, just hope he and Dudley give us some nice D and consistency at the 3, would make one less issue with the frontcourt

I want to see more of Hill on the floor with Dragic to help with the playmaking burden

Completely agree with you Tastic. But I think our beloved Dudley's role will diminish this season unless we trade Richardson and give him more minutes at the off-guard because we are going to have Hill and Clark ahead of him, unless of course we don't get a starting C, in which case I hope Clark can steal minutes at PF and maybe earn the right to start ;)

Something tells me that Earl Clark is going to get major minutes because of his defense ability. I know that the Suns don't have the stars like Spurs, Lakers, Boston and the other teams. However, our team is very deep with players that are scrappy, want to prove that they belong and have defense abilities. This is Steve Nash and Amare Stoudimares team not questions ask. The other players on the roster are here to support and fill their roll. A bench of Barbosa, Clark, Dudley, Dagic, Amudson and Lopez are very scrappy bench players with a lot of hustle and defense abilities.

I like our team, are we contendors, no. But we are not going to be upset with their effort and hustle that they are going to provide each and every game. I would still love for the Suns to sign a big who can run and play defense. But there's no one out there who has that ability, unless the Suns talk the Clippers into trading Marcus Camby for Pavalic contract and Robin Lopez... I know, I know... I'm dreaming..

Dudley never once played the 2 guard last season. He'll get more minutes at the 3 behind Hill next season anyway because of the fact that Matt Barnes is not here anymore. I see Clark taking minutes from Lou or Frye more than Dudley, and JRich will not take any of Dudley's minutes because dudley is not a guard...

Honestly, I think, even being crappy on Defence, we still have a great backcourt rotation. Nash, JRich, Barbosa, Goran. It's one of the better back courts in this league, especially offencively.
