Well,, you forgot that offense was never the problem. It was defense. How is JRich going to improve on that with the Big slowness gone? Plus our rebounding is going to be much worse without anyone to replace Shaq2010 MVP

Well sunshine, you have to give to get. Ofcourse we get worse rebounding without a 300 pound guy in the middle, but Fry and Amare are 6'10 with good feet, they will get to some rebounds as long as they stay diciplined and block out, hell Grant aint no week link rebounding either, also Richardson is a decent rebounding 2 guard, we will survive. We have never been a defensive team, sadly the addition of Shaq didnt change that, what changed was the ability to outrun and outscore people, we will get that back. The biggest problem on defense last year was our smalls getting beat off the dribble, and shaq not being quick enough to even get in the way. We all know Nash cant play D, and with the edge he gives us on ofense, we painfully accept that, but you pair him with a big behind him (Shaq if you hadnt put that together Staits) who cant move, jump, change shots or even get in the way once he gets beat off the dribble, thats a recipie for disaster. Atleast Fry has the foot speed while still being tall to get in the damn way, and either change the shot making it tougher, or making that guy have to now look to dish to a cutter, giving Amare and Hill a fighting chance to get in the damn play with weakside defense, instead of watching both Steve and the tree (Shaq, follow me staits) both getting blown by, by the same person, and him causing havoc in our lane without either of them recovering to even help fall back to cover someone else, also leaving open shooters on the wing, Shaq was horrible for our defense. Smaller centers would just post up outside the lane and lace jumpers, and when he would challenge they would easily get arround him again causing havoc. Our defense is way better off without him little guy.

Another thing that scares me is how soft of a team we are. Last season we had a bit of Raja and a lot of Shaq to give our team some toughness. Without Shaq and Raja, we're are probably the softest team in the NBA this season. We don't really have the size, we don't have the toughness and we don't have what Mary calls "swagger."

i don´t get the point? defense - we are talking about defense? come on, this silly thing named defense has no place on OUR forum. if you wanna talk about defense than go to the spurs forum

of course will j-rich have an outstanding season. without shaq everybody will get his ass to the rim. we are working for easy lay-ups, fast transition, wide open three pointers - man i am excited bout the new season because we got a roster where nine players are realy in the rotation. the only thing that kept d´antoni from the ring was his silly substitutions - he played a 6 man rotation.

are we feeling the cheese again?? haha

Props to the great one

Yes, Jrich is overpaid I know. He's boneheaded off-court and defensively in game. But to say that Pavs is a better player than JRich is ludicrous.

Be careful calling people morons before looking at yourself.

You are an imbecile fool who knows nothing about basketball... go f yourself!

Why would the Knicks do J-Rich for D-Lee? You mentioned it earlier in the thread and am interested in following the logic.

I swear you Suns fans crack me up!

Keep living in your fairytale land. When we got Shaq, it was like the most amazing thing and now that we traded him for basically nothing in return, you are glad he is gone.

I think Shaq was a bad fit for the team but we shouldve gotten value back for him. Sasha is likely to be waived so we traded Shaq for cap space.

Who are we looking to get next year BTW? I dont think the SUns have a shot at any major player in the FA market.

Basically, the Suns are done for the next 3 to 5 years!

Actually, it is you sir who crack us up. One player does not make a franchise, if you need examples, just go ask D wade, Lebron, Kobe(after shaq before Gasol), KG (in minnie), Pierce (before the big trades) Jordan for that matter before Pippen.
Shaq, as good as he was, was not a good fit "overall" for this team. We may not have gotten "players" in return for Shaq but the financial returns we got in the expiring deals is a pretty good value. A lot of trades are made in the NBA for financial relief, how do you think Gasol ended up on the lakers to begin with, sometimes you don't see the end results of a trade for a little while. With everything that has come to light the past couple of weeks, paying a player that does not have the teams best interest at heart 20 mil a season is dumb. Shaq is all about himself and himself only, that's why as soon as he felt better health wise (thanks to our training staff) he demanded the ball disrupting our offensive flow........enough about shaq......... how can you sit there and declare that the suns are done for the next 3 to 5 years ????? First of all, you have no idea how this team will gel and play together, second, you have no idea what trades can happen between now and the deadline..... you act as if Shaq was the only good player on this team, we still have nash, hill, stat, jrich (yes Jrich),barbosa....... we were a top contending team "before" shaq got here, and have declined ever since he got here!! Now a lot of that was not entirely his fault, but he had a big role in it this past year......... Done for the next 3 to 5 years ?????? that's a pretty dumb comment.......
