Fantasy Roster (Under Lux)

Post#1 » by Sun Scorched » Fri Sep 18, 2009 7:14 pm

I'm bored. The season needs to start.

Until then, I threw together what I think would be a championship contender while keeping the team under the lux tax. Thoughts?

PG - Chris Paul ($13.1) / Andre Miller ($6.7)
SG - Leandro Barbosa ($6.6) / Kelenna Azubuike ($3.1)
SF - Danny Granger ($10.1) / Grant Hill ($3)
PF - Ron Artest ($5.8) / Earl Clark ($1.7)
C - Amare Stoudemire ($16.3) / Luis Scola ($3.2)

I tried to keep it realistic with the right mix of age and only one player on their rookie scale. I also excluded the last 3 benchwarmers, they'd all be vet. min. anyways. (If i had to inlcude, let's say Amundson, Mensah-Bonsu & Linton Johnson... because I liked that guy)

How would you build a team for under $69.92?

Where did you find the salary numbers? When I searched I just saw places that had top 25 salaries. Your team is real solid, but you do have a size problem - this team would be runnin' and gunnin' but you could use a big post D guy (Artest is nasty at D but he's not gonna D up your 6-11 7 foot guys

Ya, I had an initial lineup with Artest at SF, Stoudemire at PF and Brook Lopez at C... but I like the run'n'gun team more...

Derrick Rose (5.1)/Steve Blake (4.9)
Kevin Martin (10.1)/Raja Bell (5.2)
Ron Artest(5.8)/Grant Hill (3.0)
Al Jefferson (12.0)/Luis Scola (3.2)
Dwight Howard (15.1)/Steven Hunter (3.6)

Yeah baby

EDIT: I also kept it to one rookie contract and a mix of ages

And my vet min guys would all be random Duke players who haven't stuck on a roster
-which brings me to my next point...a real fantasy roster of players who have a great basketball background would be C - Elton Brand, PF - Carlos Boozer, SF - Corey Maggete, SG - Dahntay Jones, PG - Chris Duhon. Duke FTW

Deron Williams (13.5) Earl Watson (2.8)
OJ Mayo (4.1) Leandro Barbosa (6.6)
Stephen Jackson (7.6) Grant Hill (3.0)
Amare Stoudemire (16.3) Tim Thomas (1.3)
Andris Biendris (9.0) Channing Frye (2.0)

Lou Amundson, Greg Buckner, Linton Johnson
I think this team might have too much offense. Very versatile team though and can run many different lineups.

That's perfect right there.
