Dez, i would say you were absolutly right, who of us wouldnt want to see a healthy Chandler, and Amare wreck shop together, unless he wasnt healthy and shouldnt be traded for. I would hope that would be the only reason we wouldnt try to get him, but the more i think of it, the more i see Sarver might have been dead set on getting the savings of cutting Wallace, NO MATTER WHAT!! Dont know witch is true but i hope it is that they (the trainers) said he was not fixable and thats the only reason we would pass up such a powerful front court, also the fact that Wallace didnt retire after we cut him because he was supposed to be done, worrys me, it points again to the fact that Sarver already had that money in the bank. Time will tell, if Chandler has a strong injury free year, i am going to be one pissed off Suns fan.

well, that's my point - unless I hear otherwise form the med team, I have to think saving $$$$ was a major factor in not going after him, or Okafor

There was a lot of talk about TC being damaged goods, but I don't recall anything of the sort from our med team. It just sounded like a lot of talk from other med teams who have previously examined him and other scouts. We'll see how he is this season.
That was a good chat with Coro. In terms of the 2010 FA, the way I see it is, we could flash the max contract or near max contract out and see if any of the top FA's bite. But Amare is sure thing to sign with us if we flash him the max contract, whereas there may be other more attractive destinations for other FA's. The real question though, is not whether Amare will be offered a max contract or whether he'll settle for a near max contract, it's whether Amare is the guy you want as your franchise player and the guy you build around.
Amare, as good as he is, has time and time again shown that he's not a leader, said things that would question his loyalty to the Suns, denies responsibility when leadership fails and failed to improve on his flaws (defense, rebounding.) Nash has his flaws too, but he's a leader first and foremost, he will take the responsbility for the losses and will take things into his own hands when the rest of the team don't want to. Could Amare do those things?

getting Chandler would have the same effect as Shaq... clogging the middle. Same w/ keeping Wallace... and getting OKa4... sure, it looks sexy, but so does shedding salary (if you drink enough)
This team is committed to operating as a Nash-led-Stat-fed high speed scoring machine. There are few C's that will fit in to the model. You need a 15ft J... consistent ....
I am glad Amare is moving to the post position. They can say what they want about Frye being our starting C, but on offense, it will be AMARE WHO IS POUNDING THE PAINT... and on D, he will cover the lesser offensive threat.
This is Amare's yr, more than ever, to Shine or Shut up. They will up his value by making him THE # 1 OPTION. He has as good of a chance for a scoring title as anyone (Wade, Kobe, Bron included). Then decide to keep him or sweep him. It can be argued a win win for both scenes. If he is worth the Max... he will get it.... and probably will even if not.
I am just lookin forward to this yr... next will be here all too soon.

Amare definitely has the chance of a scoring title more than Kobe and Bron.
It'll probably come down to... Wade, Durant, then Amare.

exactly, and thats why frye is a solid, cheap non sexy option
a C, who can step out for the jumpers - wont clog the middle and should open up the lane from amare / nash pick and roll
