Amare is 100% healthy as far as injuries, but he is not 100% in basketball shape. Basketball shape is an extremely high level of conditioning. Most anyone who is in decent shape and exercises regularly would barf while trying to run multiple sprints and drills. Then you have actual NBA game shape where your not only running in a straight line but sliding/shuffling your feet, jumping, stopping/starting with someone of the best athletes in all of sports.
The Suns are playing a style that requires it's players to be in optimal shape so it should be expected that he will have an adjustment period due to his conditioning.
+1 Chriscringle, sometimes these post's make absolutely no sense..............

Traxxe, I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, that is until you resorted to name calling when someone disagrees with your post. Looks like you are getting the "IHG" syndrome to me. To be truthful about it though, this post that you say you have been holding off from posting about Amare is really nothing new, nothing that hasn't already been said in the media. Kerr (inside the organization) has said publicly that they will not negotiate an extension with Amare until they see his [u]recovery and performance[u] on the court, so you have said nothing that we didn't already know. Any player in the NBA that has not been able to do any physical activity for the better part of five months is going to lose their explosiveness as well as their full leaping ability until they build that ability back up. It is no different than runners that run these marathons, just because they ran them before doesn't mean they just go out on any given day and run one, they have to train and build up their endurance to be able to compete at their highest level. Any NBA player will tell you there is a big difference between being in shape and being in game shape. Your statment is so vanilla that it is senseless to even say, there is always concern when any player is coming back from injury. To question Amare's leaping ability and explosiveness after an "eye" injury is rediculous to say the least, especially when he had no issues with either of those two areas of his game when the "eye" injury occured.
