I had no idea who he was until you just posted that so I looked him up. His numbers were pathetic no matter how you look at em...

Re: Suns Future Point Guard
Diener as a Magic averaged 5 pts on 46 FG, and 1.3 treys on 47% shooting from downtown in 11 mpg pre allstar-break.
The Magic board had a 200 page thread dedicated to him, he was in all their sigs and avatars, and they were all typing joke posts bout him becoming the best shooter in NBA history, how he'd surpass Steve Nash, etc...
Nowdays casual basketball fans such as yourself don't even know who he is

There are some things he will never do as well as Nash, but other things that he already does better. It took Nash about 3 years to become a starter and 9 to become a super star. Dragic can shoot, pass, play defense, hustles all the time, and he doesn't primp and strut like a rooster when he does well, or pout when he does poorly. If I had to pick a point guard today to be my starter next year then I would take Dragic over 80% of the starting point guards in the league today. I'd take him over Baron Davis or Gilbert Arenas any day.
look dude, i LOVE dragic, ANYONE here can tell you that, but 80% of the league? dang... please look at every NBA starter and list them and THEN teel us 80%...
for all those guys with the kidd/rondo comparisons...
WHAT!!!!!
i totally made those comparisons first! alright, I'm done.
Brimstone put together a pretty good list. Westbrook, Parker, and Curry are the only one's I'd take to start a team with over Dragic from his list. Add Paul, D. Williams and Rose and that's about it for true point guards that I'd want to rebuild with. So 29-6=23 23/29=79% Guess I was off 1%

ah, but you were off 1%! i win again!!
lol, just kidding.

chris paul? deron williams? really?
DBrimstone wrote:I would take him over the following starting point guards any day of the week-
1. Chris Duhon
2. Lou Williams
3. Jose Calderon
4. Mo Williams- Yeah, that rights, he was an all-star last year and I'd still rather have Dragic
5. Rodney Stuckey
6. TJ Ford
7. Mike Bibby
8. Raymond Felton
9. Mario Chalmers
10. Gilbert Arenas
11. Monta Ellis/Stephen Curry. I think they both play point because they're too short to be SG's
12. Baron Davis
13. Derek Fisher
14. Aaron Brooks (for his defense, guards multiple positions... Brooks is better offensively but not by too much)
15. Mike Conley
16. Johnny Flynn
17. Steve Blake
People I might take him over depending on how they look at the end of the year...
18. Tyreke Evans (he might never be more than a combo guard, but we can't be too sure just yet)
19. Rajon Rondo, the cocky little poop-face
20. Tony Parker, because of his many many many many injuries
21. Jason Kidd, he's old. You never know when he's gonna start breaking down
22. Chauncey Billups... Same reason as for Kidd
23. Russel Westbrook. Same as Tyreke Evans. Learning the PG spot pretty well but not sure if it'll ever truly click with him.
That makes 17/29 for sure and maybe 23/29, 59% for sure or 79% maybe
And Starbury and AI... I'd take him over those 2 any day of the week.
i dont know about:
gilbert arenas
baron davis
calderon
for sure. others are debatable.
and ANY of the players you were iffy on... except jason kidd.

Doesn't exist anymore unfortunately, since everything on realgm over 2 years past got erased.
Sucks cuz there were some real wacko threads that u can't look back at anymore like the Ha Seun Jin (prolly spelt it wrong) photoshop pic thread on the Blazers board, the Rudy Gay jokes thread, the Marbury caption pic thread, the Raps board 200 page meltdown when they traded Charlie Villa for TJ Ford, or the countless Dwight vs Bosh/Magic fans vs Raps homers threads...

Re: Suns Future Point Guard
I love White Jesus but I have to admit I smirked when I read the original list of PGs Goran was alleged to be better than, but in all honesty, looking over it again, I would take him over Calderon or many of them.
Rose, Deron, CP - those guys are the cream right now but i think with a bit more experience GD will be solidly in the top third and maybe the top 6. He's got size, athletic ability, excellent defender, can shoot outside or drive the ball and has above average passing skills.
He's weak in ball-handling and general floor-leadership but that will come - if he has any kind of Nashian work ethic he can be a very, very good player, and he's sure got the teachers available to him in Majerle and Nash.

I must break you...
Yeah, my list of PG's I'd take him over is all based on how he's doing now. Hopefully he keeps improving and doesn't flop. I'd like that very much. And yeah, I wouldn't take him over CP3, Deron Williams, Rose, Jameer Nelson and probably Brandon Jennings (depending on if he's gonna be a real PG or if he's a SG in a point guards body like AI was)

Some people seem to think so with their rose colored glasses. If they were fans of another team though, I doubt they would even know who Dragic was.

Well, I so far don't think people have said he'd replace Paul, only that he'd defend him decently and that he wouldn't embarrass himself.
As far as other fans not knowing him, well, you can blame Porter for that; Dragic has fought hard for his share of highlights so far this season. He's only had this very young season to show himself at all, and sports writers tend to write about that other point guard on his team.
