OT: Any student or former student of the Cronkite J-School?

Post#1 » by Go7enKs » Sat Nov 28, 2009 4:35 pm

I'm curious to know if there's any student or former student of the ASU Cronkite Journalism School. I'm finishing my degree of law in Spain and I plan to apply for a Master's Degree in Journalism in the US and I've read the ASU J-School is pretty good (is among my 7 or 8 candidates). Plus, I'd be 20 minutes from the Arena, which would be a great chance for me to follow the team.

I was just wondering if there's any student here that would like to give me some advice of tell me how the school is...

Thanks and sorry for the big OT.

I started off in the walter cronkite school of journalism at ASU. I wrote for the State Press, the campus daily paper for two semesters. Ended up changing to the Hugh Downs School of communication. I loved the school and program. A lot of fantastic professors. IM me if you are looking for specific questions to be answered. I graduated in 2002, started in 1998.

<--BA Broadcast Journalism class of 2005

Cant comment on the masters program, but the upper division of my undergrad was a great experience. I also was an anchor for SDTV and The Blaze radio station. The best benefit of the program was being able to create a portfolio of radio and TV airings, which definitely gives you the advantage when starting your career on the right foot. internships and networking ftw
