A few bad games does not mean a player, or even a team, is a bad team. Sports, specifically basketball, is a game of ups and downs. That's all there is to it. You'll have games where you play over your head, and games where you don't even know if you can dribble the ball anymore.

OK, so we lost two games, and Amare isn't doing as well as we all had hoped. Darn. A week ago NO ONE was complaining and now that we have 2 double digit loses all hell breaks loose.

Take a deep breath, realize that we're still in great position with a core group of guys that love playing the game with each other, and a leader in Steve Nash that will take the ball into his own hands and correct the ship.

Of course, I should realize that this is a message board and the Apocalypse is a weekly occurrence in places like this. But really, 2 trade Amare threads in 2 days? Please.

If it wasn't for the injury and "damaged goods" concern, I would agree with you. However he doesn't even remotely look like the same player he once was.

There is another thread exactly like this one. I told you to get ready for this and expressed there was major concern within the organization. I still cannot be specific and wouldn't be even if I could.

I'm not sure which thread you're talking about, but the last thread I saw you post in we were discussing Amare's athleticism. Is that part of the major concern?

There's no way to tell if Amare has been so passive because he's out of shape, afraid of getting re injured, isn't used to the goggles, or still isn't 100%. It doesn't matter though. The Suns would be crazy to offer him any kind of extension at this point. Unless he were to turn it around completely and start to average the 20-10 that the Suns need him to, and maybe learn to play something that resembles defense, Kerr needs to man up and pull the trigger. Letting Amare walk would almost be as bad of a move as trading away Raja and Diaw. Trade Amare for something reasonable. He's officially an injury prone player, who doesn't play defense, and has lost a step. His jumper has really been off so far this year which is my main concern.

Are you kidding me, even if Amare start ave. 25/10 from now on, I still wouldn't give him the max. Amare's pretty much an exact clone to Marion, whos offense heavily depends on the system just with a better jumper but less defense. He should be getting paid like 12 millio/yr only considering he's a lot "younger".

If Amare is a better shooter with worse defense, how is he an *exact* clone of Marion?

Sorry lol, I meant in terms of the overall offensive contribution "right now" under Gentry's system, pretty much the same as how Marion's under Mike D's

I think he may be playing through some knee pain and just isnt saying anything so he can still get that big contract at the end of the year.

From what I remember the microfracture isn't a permanent fix, and it's been about 5 years since he had it done.

eastsidecrossover wrote:Another flakey fan posting stupid threads. No wonder I dont visit the site as much. Do we have to blame amare after every lost? This is getting lame 19 games in.

Things I have notice. He is not getting up that many shots anymore. Its more of a team scoring than having a main threat like Amare back in the day.

He does seem hesitent because this is a contract year for him. Now most players would go all out, but his two major injuries I think have made him less attack mode than he used to be.

So, Im not sure the suns will be able to trade Amare unless it is to a contender. I think he will walk and the suns will try to fill that void left with Clark, frye and rolo. We will get worse and nash will want out after next year. Suns will become pethetic and Im not sure they can let go and totally rebuild.

Nice one Eastside... crap on the OP then belly up with yer two cents

Anyone remember 06-7 when he averaged about 15 points and 8 rebounds per game for Oct & Nov. Everyone thought he looked slow and hesitant. Give him a break. Its still only 19 games in after a huge surgery and very long layoff. Lets see what happens down the road. Relaxxxxxxxx

I think so too - when he came back form microfracture everyone - media etc - said how bad he looked, how he hadn't worked at it - and then he went berserk and made the all-star team.
So I'm waiting to see - no write-off this early in the year
