Now how long has Joel been in the league? How can he help us going foward? Joel is going to be our center 5 years from now? Are you guys trying to win a championship or something? Give me Rob and a few years to see what he does. We aren't winning anything now. as long as we make the playoffs and don't give up a lottery pick, we have nothing to lose by giving Lopez a chance. You guys act as if he is playing every game with Nash and co. putting in 33 mins plus. I woul MUCH rather have Lopez at this date then Joel, yuck! Why don't we give up Clark too.

I don't want to give up on Lopez just yet.

Exactly. If it isn't, who cares. He is long and active as hell, plus I like his mean streak.

Not like talking about this means a whole lot. Isn't the first day this trade could go down the 15th? We'll see if Kerr pulls anything then.

The 15th is just the deadline that teams can trade free agents who were signed over the summer.

I doubt he'll ever develop a decent post game like his brother but I hope he can at least match Brook's defensive game. If he can match Brook's defensive game right now, which the last time I checked was something like 8-9 rebs and 2 blocks, then I'd be content.

+1. I could care less if he's never able to average more than 6-8 ppg, if he can do 9 rebs and 2 blocks then he's reached what I see as his potential - and I'd be happy with him here if he can get to that point.

Portland fan here, interesting rumor. I haven't heard anything about it in portland. Have heard nothing on the radio, and no mention at all in any of the normal TrailBlazer message boards. generally, if it was on the radio, SOMEONE on one of the boards would have heard it, and it would have made its way to all of them by now. Also struggle to see a deal that makes sense for you guys. You don't have any long contracts to get rid of. If Richzardson was on the move for an expiring, instead of Peja's similar contract, maybe that makes more sense, but moving him for a similar contract would be odd. Moving him AND Lopez, essentially for Peja would be weird as well. I suppose getting a pick from NO, or maybe one from Portland as well might make it worthwhile?

A deal that looks to work financially could be something along the lines of Webster and Miller to NO. Lopez and Richardson to portland. Phx receiving Peja, and then Jeff Pendergraph and Patty Mills from Portland. Like I said, it works financially, but I don't see why it would go down. For Phx, maybe they would think that Peja would fit better than Richardson? I dunno. Can't see the reasoning for them. And then maybe they think they can get equal production from pendergraph that they would from Lopez, at a cheaper price. Mills just a tiny added bonus. For NO, taking on Miller doesn't make much sense to me, sicne Collison has looked alright, when Paul went down. And Webster would just give them ANOTHER mediocre wing to play with Posey and Mo Peterson. Saves them a little bit of money the next two seasons, but Webster has a 3rd season that would cost them a tiny bit more than their actual savings(and an unguaranteed 4th). For Portland, I'd rather not get rid of Miller personally. I hate Steve Blake, and want Miller to start. But, we're short on bodies right now, so I can see the swap from Webster to Richardson making sense, and the swap of Miller to Lopez being justified as looking for now AND the future. Probably makes more sense for Portland than the other two, but was just throwing out a deal that worked financially. I can't see Portland being all that inteested in moving Rudy or Bayless for Lopez.

At Stanford RoLo was the defensive one, while Brook was offense-focused and had raputation of a bad defender.

You can see that defensive potential in Robin, the problem is he commits really dumb fouls bumping driving players and running into people. If he'll learn to got his fire under control he's gonna be really good defender.
