Amar'e last shot / game winners

Post#1 » by denial » Sat Dec 12, 2009 5:08 pm

It was really great to see Amar'e get that dunk last night to seal the game. He looked really happy like a little kid after that. I don't think he has ever been responsible for the game winner/game sealer before. If he has, its been a long time. This is normal in tight games I guess, because coach will always give the ball to a jump shooter.

I would like to see amare get it in close games at about 15 feet. He can knock that down all day and if they guard him close he can just go dunk it.

So the point of this thread: Has Amar'e ever been responsible for game winning shot? Is he a legit go-to guy now when the game is on the line with his solid 15 footer?

I think Amare's confidence is down. Although you can never tell because he doesn't show much emotion. I think that dunk last night is gonna boost him quite a bit (hopefully).

He made that clutch three pointer against the Spurs in the playoffs his rookie year I believe.

Amares shot against the spurs was for OT then marbury banked one in ot to win haha

Amare has has 3 game winning blocks vs the kings, and a pick and roll dunk with 1 second to go against the macs which we won

can't think of others?

Amar'e has had a number of game winning/tying pick and rolls at the end of games with Nash.

Everyone must remember how him and Nash hooked up for 3 straight pick and rolls at the end of a game in the playoffs against the Spurs. I can't remember which time, but I think the Spurs ended up winning anyway because of calls.

Remember that spurs playoff game where Nash Amare connected on 2 pick and rolls in a row with Nash passing behind his back left to right then right to left - crazy

that pick and roll hasn't been anywhere near as effective lately

One season we hooked him up for 3 or 4 game tying/winning 3s I recall but I don't think any of them came off. I think we went away from him for the game-winning shot after that season.

I'm pretty sure just last year Amare had a game winner against the Kings in a game early in the season when Nash was out due to a suspension from the Rockets game.

Amare had the ball and went a little one on one for a pull up 16 foot jumper that he nailed

I just watched the highlights of the game, and it was awesome to see Amar'e get so excited about that dunk. Never seen him act like that after a play, to my knowledge anyway.

I have a feeling Amare is on the path of Penny Hardaway. Was awesome the first few seasons and then declined significantly due to injuries and lack of commitment.

I still see Amar'e coming back. Good signs last two games.
