As MVF points out, the fact we've turned back into the team that consistently gives away 20 point leads is probably more worthy of our fretting than any other aspect of this game.

They should call the next book about the Suns 82 The Hard Way

Some very inconsistent calls tonight, and it was very obvious that Karl got to the refs. Good for him - that's how the game work is in the NBA. No knock on George for playing it as it lays. But it shouldn't work that way

Stern has some problems he needs to deal with in terms of officials. I think it makes the league look like the WWE

ive been saying that the nba is the wwe of pro sports. why in the world do super stars get but others dont? why does a foul in the 1st not a foul in the 4th? why is there make up calls? why can a coach get on the refs then get every touch foul after? we know all these things happen in every game, so in a sense its like the wwe

In no other sport, do the teams I support get such unfavorable calls from the refs. Down the stretch Hill should have got an offensive foul callon Billups and Nash clearly was body checked on his layup. I can't blame Gentry for getting tossed. I would have as well.

I've had a night to sleep on it, and I've watched the replay more than a few times. I don't think that the last foul on Nash was as big a deal as I thought it was. Nash pushed off of Nene as well, twice. Zebras called most of the calls for us in the first half, and then everything for Denver in the 2nd half, but in the end, we gave up a 17 point lead.

I was at the game last night and it was a great game to watch. As a fan from the other fanbase, i do agree with some of the reffing being pretty inconsistent at the end, but it was inconsistent all the way through. You guys see Nash getting no calls, I see NeNe getting smashed in the paint almost everyplay with a no call, so it goes both ways. Almost every game in the NBA is pretty inconsistent, it goes with the momentum. Not that that is a good thing.

Nash is the funnest player to watch in the NBA imo. some of his passes are insane, and he smashed birdman's ankle at the end there too Its like he gets better with age. Good luck guys. Nash or Melo for MVP!!!!

Thanks for the post -
Good luck the rest of the way. If we fail, please dismantle the Lakers for us. And watch out for the Rockets

Besides the 3rd quarter collapse I was happy with this game (probably because I wasnt expecting to win). We've been able to keep it extremely close against elite teams. Much better than I was expecting to be honest.

We need to stay in the 2 or 3 seed or drop to 6 a miracle run wont be possible if we meet the Lakers 2nd round.

I can't believe that the Suns have been giving up huge leads like this for YEARS now. Like, way before the D'Antoni days even. We've ALWAYS given up huge leads, just insane.

No but the REAL BIG DEAL was when Nene clearly knocked the ball out of bounds and the refs gave it to the Nuggets anyway. That was a HUGE turnover.

Yep.

I agree with the "it's not robbery if you give it away" thing, however--we blew the lead. Okay, that happens. Happens all the time, actually. That's no excuse for blatant referee ineptitude. Not to mention we blew the lead and a big part of it was due to the refs. We can suck on our own, no need for refs to help em out.

Rosen points out the meritless fouls that were called on the Suns:
As a result, the Nuggets got much more than their fair share of close calls after the intermission. While Denver was blasting with impunity every Phoenix player who dared drive into the lane, the Suns were repeatedly called for ticky-tack fouls. Indeed, several highly questionable calls on Amare Stoudemire kept him on the bench for long stretches while Denver mounted its comeback. Moreover, the minutes of Jared Dudley and Channing Frye were similarly limited by unjust foul trouble.
