no more signings of people over 30, unless its a 1 year contract. this team needs to get younger, not older.

^Well as I see it, Nash will be around for 3 of those 4 years, and we won't really full-rebuild as long as he is here. The year after that, Rip's contract would have some value as an expiring.

We need to get better. Our bench is young enough, although RIP has been banged up this year he's still an upgrade imo. Plus he'll have never seen so many open looks. Like playing with Chauncey x 2 all over again.

I wouldn't do it. At least J-Rich's deal is up in two years. Four years of Calderon: ugh.

I proposed a trade that netted us Thabo for JRich a while back, he would be invaluable as a stopper here - definitely would start with the run and gunners.

Only thing is, I don't think OKC would do it. They have younger talent and have no need to have JRich locked up for 2 years. But man, I really would love Thabo here - he would be the difference maker in advancing at least a couple rounds in the playoffs.

If we could turn JRich into Thabo, I would be stoked. Thabo is one of my favourite role players, he plays great D, shoots the 3 and is still quite young.

I'd do the T-Mac but we'd have to throw in LB to match salary and that sucks. At worst, which we have to figure on, TM is only a means to free up $21mil next summer. Is that worth losing Leandro for?
If Amar'e walks - which I doubt - that's $17 milas well.
Though if we a re $21 mil over the cap, then TMac expiring just brings us under and we won't be adding anyone big salary to replace him.

Thus endeth the discussion. There you have it- The JRich story.

The guy is so close, and yet so far .....

I was firmly n the Calderon over TJ camp but sometime during the past year I've cooled on Jose. He is absolutely baffled by the concept of "fastbreak"

It looks like the Hornets are willing to give up anyone besides CP to dump salaries. I wouldn't take anyone besides Okafor but is he worth the price?

i would do this in a heartbeat, however, taking on JR is not a salary dump. they are trying to lower the luxury tax this year. taking JR does nothing to help that.
