Wow, what a crap trade.

If management knows they have no intention on paying Amare or know he's leaving it wouldn't be so bad, Simmons contract comes off the books and the Suns wouldn't have to be trading away players and picks to get under the lux tax, Yi would thrive in this system and the Suns could probably get a guy like Lance Stephenson with that draft pick.

justinb80 wrote:As mentioned above, Yi is a 3rd or 4th banana. And a Mavs 2010 first rounder wouldn't be in the lottery, so worthless as a main component for a trade. Any trade with New Jersey would have to include one of the following as the centerpiece: their 2010 first rounder, Brook Lopez, or Devin Harris.

The 2010 draft is strong, a mid-late first in this draft is like a late lotto-mid teens in the 09 draft

I do agree that Yi would be good in the Suns' system, but he'd have to be either a throw-in to the trade, or they'd have to include another piece just as strong as he is.

I think a best-case scenario with NJ is that we wait until the Nets find out they have the #1 pick, then we trade STAT to them for Devin Harris, Yi Jianlian and let them eat the remainer of Stat's salary (if he opts in). Can you imagine the devastation that a Wall/Stoudemire pick-and-roll would cause?

Even this, I don't really like, because I'm not in love with either Harris or Yi.

You are delusional and like so many others , over rate Stat's trade value. Not necessarily his talent, but his value.

Keep in mind, there is a strong possibility he walks for nothing but cap space and goes to the highest bidder. Our front orfice knows this, every front office knows this. Somebody has to want him bad, and is prepared to give him the max to make a trade this yr.

They are essentially trading him for his bird rights and the guarantee he is theirs for the duration.

I'd consider all possibilities involving quality youth and draft picks. We are not going to get a dollar for dollar deal.

I'm not trying to be delusional. Just saying, I'd rather keep Stoudemire if they didn't offer us that trade.

I feel like a terrorist detonated a powder bomb in my stomach and then laid down a spike strip through my intestines.

I remember posting none of this last night. Hehe.

I took a spill on my motorcycle recently after being hit by a crazy Korean tow truck driver doing an illegal turn. So I'm taking a morphine related prescription for the pain. Couple that with it was my two year anniversery the niht before and well; had some drinks. Apparently I was rabidly ranting about the Suns last night and I guess that shows here.

I made a post about opium. I should of said opiates. I am on legal medication. Now come July 7th when I arrive in the practically lawless land of Cambodia if I start rambling again then there is a good chance I found a good source of nice quality opium. I plan to have my epic (turned 30 this year) last juvenile bender of the likes of which have never have been seen before. Then I return to America in February and will be in Arizona by March.

Anyway, I'll finish catching up on threads and then comment later. Bathroom trip first!!!

I'm blanking on this:

New York's own 2010 1st round pick to Utah via Phoenix. [New York - Phoenix, 1/5/2004 and then Phoenix - Utah, 2/19/2004]

What did we do with Utah that sent them the NY pick?

The pick was acquired from NY in the Marbury trade.

It was quickly repackaged with a 2004 1st rounder, a 2005 2nd rounder, cash, and Tom Gugliotta all for the package of Keon Clark and Big Ben Handlogten...
