What are your Suns New Year's Resolutions?

Post#1 » by rsavaj » Fri Jan 1, 2010 9:40 pm

I'll start with one: developing Earl Clark. With our record, we haven't had many opportunities to play him, but we don't want him to go down the Alando route. He has huge potential, but he makes some really dumb mistakes while he's out there. If he's not bringing it in practice and not earning the time, then we're in trouble...

Short term: To take care of the Amare situation once and for all, we all know management isn't going to extend him so instead of just waiting for the inevitable they should just trade him and at least get something even if it's not alot instead of letting him opt out and might not end up with anything.

Long term: To see the Suns build through the draft instead of free agency

Good point, this just gave me an idea for a thread...

Trade Jason Richardson or get him back to 17-18 PPG.
We have three guys off the bench who are capable of getting double figures every night with the limited minutes, I expect 24-30 (40?) points off the bench per game.
Keep Amare. He is still improving.

I agree with previous posters:

1) Find a resolution to the Amare situation. Either look to trade him or lock him up.
2) Get Clark some real playing time.

Guys EC has played in 25 games averaging 9mpg, that's plenty of play time. I don't want him to even have that much. He doesn't deserve ANY until he starts working hard and maturing.

The Phoenix Suns - 2010-2011 Projected Record: 30-52 3rd lottery pick.

He played in mostly garbage time and probably without a whole lot of foreknowledge that he'd even see the court. I'd like to see how he performs if Gentry tells him, "Hey Earl, guess what? You're going to play 30 minutes tomorrow."

Doesn't matter when you play, he's playing but not performing. :/ You guys keep making excuses. Let's bench him until next year after he's had a full year to practice and work out.

Gotta take your opinion with a grain of salt, since you and Maryvale are the resident doomsayers.

I'd say keep Amare, he's certainly improving, so right now I can't say we really know where his comeback is peakin off but the way he's playing he's certainly worth building around. Also, I want the suns to get a nice player, who we will be certain they will keep a while so I can buy a jersey and not get it outdated like diaw, bell, shaq lol i wanna get a dudley one, awesome player but idk, anyone here feelin confident he's here to stay a while??

1. REBOUND

2. Play smart--at all times.

3. Get rid of Jason Richardson.

4. Stop playing down to competition.

Work on alternative plays besides Nash dribbling, particularly work with Amare for how to holding low post position in mismatches to get a good entry pass.

On defense, diversify the way we double team as well as the way we defend pnr. Tell Nash to stick to the hot hands instead of roaming in the paint for taking charges.
