Gentry is an interesting addition too. Not that I feel that way, but definitely adds some depth to the poll.

He's as much to blame, if any, than any one player, imo.

Nobody does.

Boy, I don't like blaming one person. How about blaming a lack of a player. Lack of a true center that doesn't need the ball and will bang and rebound and bring some intensity in our defensive paint. Can that be an option? Because I'd choose that.

+1
Plus a lock down perimeter defender who can score from at least one position on the court (3's, mid range, post up, or slashing)

It's not just one player, it's the whole team and I would also include management. Hate to say it but compare Suns management to others around the league and it's not looking good at all...

Jason richardson has to go.

Dishonorable nomination to frye, who is so streaky that when he's off, it's going to be a 2-10 night at best.

My first thought was JRich, hands down. But the more I thought about it, the reason we are losing is because of our defense. I would go as far as to say we have adequate perimeter defenders by SSOL standards (ie a no defense team), JRich can play some D even though he gets burnt on most nights, Dudley is a decent defender, Hill does a good job defensively and even Barbs and Nash makes a defensive play once every few games. Our front court is where we need some defensive help. Amare is Amare on defense, Frye's defense stinks, Lopez has shown he's on the floor to use his 6 fouls and Collins and Clark gets no minutes.

I think if we had a defensive anchor in starting front court, our defense would improve dramatically. That player may not have to be a former DPOY like Camby or D12, just someone with good defensive IQ. Slotting Frye in as our starting 5 hurts our defense and it's our defense that's making us lose games against inferior teams.

Right now I would put the blame on Frye, simply because I think his spot in the starting 5 could be better filled with a defensive player which would make us a much improved team.
