My true expectation is for him to never appear in a game this season.

Honestly, that's it. He's the last man on the bench, and he hurts us, every single time he's in. He has never made a difference or impact other than a negative one.

Wow. Here I was thinking that the Suns board was one of the smartest on RealGM.

First of all- it's hard for EC to be a bust when NO ONE who has half a brain was expecting anything from him in his rookie year. He had zero hype around his signing, there were no immediate expectations from him, and everyone knew that he'd be playing sporadic minutes through out his first year. People really need to learn how to use the word 'bust'. Greg Oden is a bust. Stop throwing words around if you don't know the meaning of them.

Last year, everyone said Dragic sucked/was a terrible pick blah blah blah and now he's looking like one of the most promising young players in the league.

Stop wanting immediate results from everything. This thread should be stickied just so that come this time next year all of the naysayers can feel like morons for bashing a kid before he even gets legit playing time.

I'm beginning to think you're kidding...quite an MVF-like standpoint you are taking there.

I can think of a few reasons why trading him is an absurd idea, and even though I wouldn't even have to tell my grandma these reasons here goes:

1) He is a rookie.
2) He is a mid-first-round rookie.
3) He has loads of potential. Regardless of how he is now or even how some question his work ethic, it has been said that he has the potential to come out of the draft in the future and be one of the top prospects selected.
4) When you pick a player who is not going to come in and put up big numbers but is heralded as the highest ceiling in the draft, you plan on keeping that player for 3-5 years before even THINKING about analyzing his future in the league or on the team.
5) No player, ESPECIALLY a rookie, can play 8 minutes in each of 27 games and "blow up". You are looking over your shoulder nervously and either trying to put up numbers at the expense of smart plays, or making smart plays at the expense of numbers. You can and WILL get pulled out at your first mistake. Gentry regularly pulls him after 90 seconds or 2 minutes.
6) Again with his potential, what value will you get for him if you try to move a 14th pick who has 8mpg? Do you want to get Alando back or something?
7) He is a rookie
8) He is a rookie

It's just the kid above you. He's an Earl Clark hater, he thinks Earl Clark was suppose to go to the Suns and become a Lebron James type of player. He didn't even respond to my Taylor Griffin post.

I don't want results from him. I had no expectations of him when he came to us. I didn't even think he'd be playing in games.

Unfortunately... people here DO have hype, and expectations for him.

The "kid" doesn't deserve any play time. He should not see the court outside of practice. That's it -- end of discussion.

Shouldn't we all know better than to try and rationalize with MaryvalesFinest, hunterxaz, or statisback?

I think Gentry has learned a lesson with playing EC. He blew up on him when we played the Bucks and again last night. I think we won't be seeing much of him (hopefully) in the future.

As an aside, how on earth do you guys measure "potential" ? I mean a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) kid has potential to be as good as Lebron James it seems -- how exactly do you quantify what he can and possibly will do? Based on everything we've seen thus far, he's just complete epic fail...

I don't see how he can play well when he has irregular minutes. Having said that some D league time might be good for him to get him playing time.

Send him to D-League and bring him back for next season. I see potential in the kid.

Same thing happened to Dragic last season, everyone called him Tragic but look where he is now, he has improved a truck load.

Return to Phoenix Suns
