I don`t see how the Suns have the squad to beat the Lakers... No size, minimal defense and weak on the boards. And this is against a huge front court + Kobe Bryant.

Hunter the optimist!(/earl clark pessimist :D )

Edit: we have the squad, that much is true. The problem is that this team played sub .500 ball for TWO MONTHS. Your squad doesn't matter if they can't play well consistently.

Prop bet

If Suns play Lakers I'll bet any amount of money you want that we lose the series.

BTW Hunter, I can knock the realism but I can't knock the optimism :D

I'll still take the bet though

well I traded out the suns starters for:
PG: 80's Magic Johnson
SG:70's George Gervin
SF:80's Larry Bird
PF:90's Karl Malone
C: 90's Hakeem

same bench rotation

was 4th in the west and got knocked out by GS in the first round

i am forced to question the validity of 2k10 sims

The one thing this team has proven is that we can beat anybody, and we can be beaten by anybody. In a 7 game stretch right now, I would say Lakers in 6. If we get more consistency moving through the end of the year things might change a little bit.

As much as I don't think we are looking like contenders right now, I also don't get the sense that any team will be able to bowl us over in the playoffs. Whoever gets us will be scared by what a couple of our players have shown they can do come playoff time (hint: Amare's performance against the Spurs huge lineup 3 years ago, or Steve's performances against DAL) We are actually deeper than the Lake Show I think. Their talent is top heavy but drops off quick on the bench. Our top is not quite as heavy, but our overall bench is stronger and laden with some defensive personnel. We will need to bring it for EVERY game to make a good playoff performance.

I think we can pass Utah and Denver and get the 3 seed. If you look at both of those teams remaining schedules they are road heavy, and we have an 8 game home stand coming up. Both of those teams are average on the road.
