Putting Earl in the D-League will hurt his growth tremendously. The D-League did absolutely nothing for Tucker and I could see the same effect on Clark. I'd imagine it would hurt his confidence more because it means he isn't ready for the NBA level. I trust in what Kerr and Gentry are doing to our youngin's in their development.

Yeah but if EC can't show growth in the NBA where is he supposed to show it? I mean we can't really focus on playing him when we're trying to win games bro. Suns want to make a deep playoff run. This year. Next year. While we have Nash. We can develop after we don't have the #1 PG in the NBA any longer.

Oh god I know. Robin was a great pick-up, especially as a developing center. I think his rebounding is superb. His post-defense is excellent and is improving as an offensive threat. Dragic is also an amazing find, I think that his defense for a point guard is excellent, and I think he's getting more range every season, and his passing ability is good to, especially with Steve Nash as a mentor.

rolo last frontier is consistency. the flashes that he displayed last season seems to be more consistant this season. lets hope he keeps it up. same thing going on with dragic. I think Earl clark has some spots here and there but the suns may need to be more patient with him. its not common a development that dragic and lopez are showing so just be patient suns fans.

Leave it to hunter to divert another thread to trash on Clark.

hunterxaz wrote:(I didn't bring up EC in this thread, but comparing EC to Rolo and Dragic is silly. There are no similarities.)

Well, you kept talking about Dragic like this before the season started, how about that?

I admit I was wrong about Dragic. However, he just grew a pair out of nowhere -- he plays only 3 more MPG this season. Something happened where he just finally "got it"

I hope that happens for EC... but I see no reason in giving EC even MORE minutes than he gets now, hoping he'll "get it" -- we didn't do it for Goran, we don't need to do it for EC. At least not while we're trying to contend for a championship this season and next.

Actually we did do it for dragic... it started last season after Gentry took over. The main difference is that Dragic has a consistent role with consistent minutes and he knows what to expect each game, and where he fits in. EC may be averaging a WHOPPING 7:54 minutes a game... but they are drastically different each game, sometimes not even getting in at all. i'm not saying he needs more minutes or that he is going to turn out great... i just think that judgment on him shouldn't be handed out yet.

i just don't get it... how can you admit that you were wrong with writing dragic off, and be so absolutely positive that EC is going to suck? I think the reason everyone seems to disagree with you is because they all made the same mistake on dragic and lopez, and now we're being patient and hopeful before we write him off.

EC sucks now. He may or may not suck in the future. If something doesn't change, he will continue to suck. I have never said he's a bust. I said he's a let down, especially considering all the hype he received as a #15 pick. I don't think EC will ever be more than a roleplayer though. Dragic will be a starting PG though.

When I criticize him, it's because he had a terrible game and made glaring errors and hurt us. He hasn't had a good game yet for us. That's all. I don't want to waste time playing him, when we're trying to win a championship.

I want EC to blossom and be uber and get 20/10. I just don't know if he can. Historically, his play has stunk! I want him to be successful though. Go Earl Clark!!!!

The moment we drafted EC we knew he would be a long term project. But look at him, standing at almost 6'10 at the small forward. and he is like what.. 20? give him a couple of seasons to work onhis game. He has alotta potential. I do believe he will get there, just a matter of when..

And the people that are labelling him a bust, well, we'll see.......

with earl, I think being able to be avg 18/8/ 3 is good enough for him. I think he needs to be aggressive. I think Robin and Dragic motor is always in full effect thats why the are effective. I think if EARL does this he should get his numbers.
