And Taylor Griffin is going to transform the Cavs into a well-oiled offensive machine. Enjoy!

Actually, Andy Grffith is going to do that ... or maybe it's Peter Griffin

my god, we aren't going to start calling T. Griffin "Peter", are we?

Yes, I think we are

On a more serious note..... Where do the Suns stand ???

It looks pretty certain we are playoff bound... and once there, its a 'who knows' crap shoot. For all that think its doomsday to meet LA or Denver, Dal, or Utah... Weve been to the finals before when we had no business being there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz_op2EZyQk&feature=related If any of you peewees have not seen this game in its entirety, do so. That play off run/ finals appearance was emotionally taxing and a precursor to being a Suns fan... Just watching the above clip causes flashbacks of temporary joy / intense sorrow. It still makes me anxious and I believe it lead me to drug use and a decade or 2 of debauchery... at least that is the conclusion of my therapist. 8-)

The basketball can bounce mighty strangely come play off time. I'll don my own 'shades' then. We've been underdogs before.

PS....

What are the dates for the FA declaration , Draft, signings, etc... ? It looks like Stat is a certain goner and worst case, we have 7 or 8 mill to jack around. Do we also get a MLE on top of that ? There is a pretty decent shopping list.
What ? Me Worry ?

Kerr said we have whatever we're under the tax, which I THINK will be 16 mil or so...? I think the cap is supposed to be at around 62 mil next year, and if/when stat walks we'll be at about 45-46. If he opts out, it has to be by june 30th, which is like a week or so after the draft. If I remember correctly, July's when free agency truly begins, which would make sense with June 30th being the final opt out date

I predicted we'd win 52 in Jan and I'm still maintaining that (lost hope there for a while I must admit). Have to win 15 of our last 22 which is def achievable.

I've also predicted since the start of the season that we'd get bounced in the first round but to be honest I really think it depends on who we are up against in terms of match-ups.

I think the cap's supposed to be like ~52-55, which would give us around ~7 mill to spend.

You can only use the MLE if you're over the cap, so we wouldn't be able to use it.

My understanding is that you get one or the other, not both. ie. if you are below the cap by 3m you can use the MLE so that you're not disadvantaged. That's just going off my memory tho which has let me down on more then one occasion.

So if we are below the cap by more then the MLE we will only have the cap space and the other exceptions (LLE, MinVets). Assuming we didn't sign anyone last season for the LLE of course. We used part of the MLE on Frye didn't we?

The Seven Seconds or Shaq offense was one of the greatest offenses in NBA history.

As I said, the team's record at the All-Star break was just ONE GAME better than last season's record when Amare went down for the rest of the season.

Shaq gets blamed for everything, unfortunately.

I disagree that he was a bad fit...he played VERY well for the Suns last season after looking washed up during the 2007/2008 season.

It sucked because he clogged the passing lanes that nash usually has and his post ups made everyone just stand around and watch.

1. LA
2. Dallas
3. Phoenix
4. Utah
5. Denver
6. SA
7. OKC
8. Portland

Putting my homer glasses on and...

I believe that this is the best possible seeding scenario for us. In my opinion, the only team that can upset Dallas is OKC (SA to old and Portland not good enough due to injuries etc.). That way we have a chance to get homecourt against SA, OKC and then possibly a WCF (where I'm hoping that Denver has upset LA which yet again gives us homecourt).

Thoughts?

That'd be nice, and I think we can do it. Won't we move up to 4th if we beat the Jazz on Thursday? If we won on Wed, we'd be 39-24, then 40-24 if we beat Jazz. Jazz would be 38-23. I think that gives us a better win %.
The Phoenix Suns - 54-28. Projected Record: 54-28 3rd Seed

The Phoenix Suns - 2010-2011 Projected Record: 30-52 3rd lottery pick.
