I know this isnt the right thread to post this (i dont want to start a new one for just one question), but has anyone heard anything about Amares flagrant foul being rescinded? With all partys that were involved saying Amare didnt do anything, i figured they would drop it, but havent heard anything about it.

Steve nash has a very similar issue with his back. My guess is that once lopez is cleared to play, he will be at 100% until something flares up, which will be rare if he conditions himself properly and sleeps in the right position. It's not going to weaken him forever, it will just be something he will have to monitor. Back issues are usually all or none, it either doesnt hurt at all one day or he cant get up one day.

There is no way he will start over Lopez... You expect way too much out of NBA scrubs...

I don't see how their back problems are similar. Nash's issue occurs when one his vertebrate actually slips forward and slides in at an angle on one of his lower lumbars. Sounds much more painful and is sometimes referred to as a stress fracture.

Lopez just has a bulging disc. This site actually makes the injury and treatment sound pretty reasonable.

http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-bulging-disk.htm

In many cases, a bulging disk may be diagnosed as a condition secondary to another problem. Because a bulging disk does not always cause pain, it may only be found during a routine or diagnostic imaging test such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Typically, a bulging disk is not a problem unless it begins to cause pain, becomes herniated or ruptures.

Treatment for a bulging disk or even a herniated disk is relatively conservative in most cases. Rest and lifting restrictions are common, and a doctor may recommend a combination of heat and ice therapy and anti-inflammatory medications or cortisone injections. Medication may be prescribed to deal with any associated pain.

Though usually a condition affecting the lower back, occasionally, a bulging disk may occur in the neck area. Usually, pain that radiates to the shoulders and arms indicates that a nerve in the neck may be pinched or pushed upon. In the lower back, pain may sometimes radiate to the legs.

If he gets a fair chance to prove himself I don't see why he wouldn't outplay him...dude averaged 16 rebounds per game over 48 games, doesn't make a difference what league that is, it's still impressive.

Bad news from Coro:

Lopez's bulging disk will be re-evaluated in a few days to see if he can add an interior presence.

"We don't anticipate him coming back," Gentry said. "If he does, that'll be a great thing. We're trying to move ahead and prepare as if he's not going to be there."

Not sure... ambiguous there, huh? :/

The phrase "We're moving ahead as if he's not going to be there" Would imply "there" as in the playoffs, not "there" for the regular season last few games, ya know?

That was the only answer a commander in chief can give folks. Play the hand you're dealt.

Looks like Earl Barron (who the Knicks called up) went for 17 points and 18 rebounds. Not saying they should have called him up instead but he got a solid amount of playing time to show his skills. So why not give Jones around 40 minutes at starting center who put up much better rebounding numbers and similar scoring numbers...

hopefully gentry gets this guy some burn in the last few games. I could see him getting some time if we are getting pounded on the boards and/or if frye's shot is off. He could be a nice surprise for us, get some boards and block some shots. Then again, thats the best case scenario
