Getting ready for the Playoffs

Post#1 » by KaneSFFL » Wed Apr 7, 2010 8:42 am

Hey everyone, new member here but definitely not new to realgm. I've been following the boards for about 4 or 5 years and finally decided to get an account for this stretch playoff run we're going to make. little background on me: born and raised in arizona, moved to Southern cali 8 years ago and live among all the laker fans here and trying my best to keep them in their place :D

Anyways, looking forward to contributing here. Here's to a healthy Robin Lopez, a good final 5 games to help us get the 2 or 3 seed we want, and for us to continue playing the way we have the past couple months.

Welcome to the boards.

What's your stance on the whole Amare situation? Is he a Sun next season?

lol don't mean to put you on the stand.

Personally, I think if Amare beasts in the playoffs we'll be willing to pay him more, but it will still be below his expectations.

I'm from Phoenix born and raised lived here my whole life but for eight months last year from January to August of 2009 I lived in Anaheim, California as I was doing an internship for Disneyland. So I contributed one more Suns fan to the So Cal area for that time. I wore my Amare jersey around and got some "interesting" looks haha

I also spent time in in southern cal just north of Anaheim for a few years while I was in school after living in phoenix for 18 years... I'm now up in the Portland area. Blazer fans aren't nearly as bad as Laker fans. LA fans for any sport are by far the worst... so many teams in the LA area, a lot of them root for whoever is good that season (even UCLA/USC) and then brag about it. it drove me nuts. 2 of the years i was there were the seasons we knocked the Lakers (twice) and the clippers out of the playoffs, so that was sweet!

Laker jerseys are a fashion accessory, people think that wearing it is cool and makes them a fan of the NBA and the Lakers. Went to a costume party for a cruise a week ago and the theme was something starting with B. There were about 4-5 basketball players, 3 of them had Kobe jerseys  , one had a Celtics jersey and the other had an AI jersey. Was surprised there wasn't a LBJ jersey that night.
