David Lee would be an awesome fit with you guys, he's a good, versatile scorer, exellent rebounder and is an outstanding passer. But I hope we keep him. I want him to stay in NYK

But is, for example, giving up the #3 pick worth it just to get a guanranteed Amare? Without doing a S&T, the Nets have other options they can make a play for, such as Bosh, Gay, Lee. etc. etc. if they DONT get Amare.

According to NJ's fans, no, its not worth it. But to the Front Office, who knows. Yes they can go after Bosh, Gay, Lee, etc. , But so can half the NBA. If you can get one of them guaranteed, thats what you do. Amare was #1 on there board. Bosh was on that list at #2. Now Gay and Booz were both on the list, but not at max money. I think both Gay and Boozer will get the max or very close to it from one of the 2010 Big FA losers (NY, MIA if they lose Wade). Too many teams out there with tons of money/ talent to gamble on getting a All-star FA when you can get one guaranteed for a small donation (Yi/TWill/#3).

And Yes, they might get Gay/Boozer, but the have the money for 2 max FA, so just getting one would be a let down.

NJ gets a Guaranteed Amare, then use the rest of the $$$ to gamble on competing with NY/MIA?CHI and a few other teams getting a FA Gay/Boozer/JJ.

If the Suns get rid of Amare why would they want a guy who plays less defense than Amare in Lee? This team would be even worse defensively and he would almost cost the same as Amare.

I wouldn't mind having JJ Redick here perhaps in place of Barbosa, I would have to say no to Brand though because his best days are behind him and his contract is one of the worst in the NBA.

Yeah he's killing his value. When Philly drafts Turner they could go:

Holliday
Turner
Iggy
Amare
Dalembert

That's good enough to attract Amare for Max value.

Amare for Brand/Thad + 2011 1st + 3 mil cash to buy ATL's pick this year.

Brand gets OK'd be the med staff. He's a better rebounder/defender/passer than Amare plus we'd get Thaddues Young plus 2 picks. Keep Brand w/ Nash thru 2012 and then trade him as an expiring.

That's a good defensive team ecspecially when Nash comes out. Thad would blow up here.

I think they would fork out a max or near-max contract to get Amare if Bosh decides to goes elsewhere. I doubt the Heat has enough to lure Lebron and I don't think Miami is big enough for two superstars on the same team.

Whatever that figure is, I think it will be more than what we are willing to pay for Amare.
