I'd rather Kobe had pulled off a miracle and hit that ridiculous shot with the great defense rather than on some sh*tty put back because someone had a mental lapse. In my mind, they didn't win the game, we lost it. Credit to Artest for being where he should be and getting that airball but the odds were stacked in our favor on that last play and whenever a team has to take a last second shot like that, the odds are always stacked against them. I told my brother I would've been fine if Kobe had won the game on a highly contested shot because that's really all you can do.

From a Suns standpoint, you are correct. From a Realgm standpoint, it would have been worse.
